Kaido fell silent.
This was something he had never considered—or rather, something he had always avoided.
He was stupid!
Too stupid to come up with a good plan to strike first. He could never be like Ron, the kind of bastard with no lower limit when it came to scheming against people. All he could do was defend and counterattack.
That was why he had forged an unshakable defense. As the saying went, the more you said, the more mistakes you made. Compared to racking his brains to seize the initiative, striking after the enemy was a hundred times easier.
The Four Emperors were people too. They each had their own flaws and thoughts. It was impossible to make Kaido as domineering and righteous as Shanks—that was not his style.
Whitebeard valued loyalty and sentiment, Shanks could not act freely, and BIG MOM craved sweets as if her life depended on them while remaining cold and heartless. These were the flaws the Four Emperors had as people.
And being too easy to read was Kaido's flaw.
When the gap in strength was too great, that naturally did not matter. Ron was the same. If the strength gap was too large, the enemy did not even qualify to see through him. Crushing them outright was enough.
But once their strength was close—or if the opponent deliberately targeted that flaw—it became fatal.
"Let me go..."
Suddenly, Kaido stopped struggling, his voice low and heavy.
Ron silently frowned, but he removed his foot and stepped back.
Gurgle...
The scales of Kaido's dragon-man form receded beneath his skin. He got to his feet and brushed the dust from himself.
"Hiss..."
Pain flared up. Looking at the scars left on his body, Kaido froze for a second before turning around.
"You're strong!"
"No shit!"
He
