Candy then used Water Style to spray Shukaku, and Shukaku immediately found himself in deep trouble.
Shukaku was a desert Chakra creature, and water was exactly what he feared.

"My Chakra is the weakest among the Tailed Beasts. Can't you set your sights on the other Tailed Beasts instead?"
Ryobu said to Shukaku, "Shukaku, take me to the Nara Desert. Like you, I need a place to hide."
Shukaku immediately burst into laughter. "Your enemies came knocking because your Chakra was Sealing, right?"
"Quit yapping. Take us back to your hometown."
"I'm not taking you!"
"How dare you? Candy, spray him!"
Candy Summoning a banana-leaf fan, fanned Water Style onto Shukaku's body.
"Alright, stop spraying! I'll take you there, okay? You evil Hakimi, you're just as unlovable as Nekomata!"
In the end, Shukaku yielded. He swallowed Ryobu and the others into his stomach, using the special Wind God Curse Mark within to conceal their auras.
Ryobu had not come merely to bully Shukaku. He had spent time with Shukaku before and knew that he carried a Wind God Curse Mark.
This curse mark could block all forms of perception.
His clone activated Sage Mode to sense the people chasing them. Black Zetsu had been following from behind the whole time; it was as though this pursuit had complete map vision.
Ryobu guessed that Black Zetsu might possess a form of perception beyond Sage Mode, so he wanted to use a Tailed Beast's power to block Black Zetsu's vision.
Sure enough, once they entered the Barrier inside Shukaku's stomach, the clone could no longer sense anyone pursuing them. The Barrier in Shukaku's stomach was very effective.
