Liao Wu escaped Madara’s underground base as Orochimaru, Tsunade, and Jiraiya converged on the revived Madara. After the group believed Madara dead, Liao Wu used Reverse Plunder Regeneration to revive him and escape.

• Liao Wu survived his apparent death and woke in Madara’s base, where Madara demanded his immortality technique and Liao Wu used White Zetsu powers to escape before being captured again.
• Liao Wu learned Dragon Life Reincarnation from Ryūsetsu and developed Plunder Regeneration 2.0 while Orochimaru pursued him and Tsunade investigated the village’s corruption.
• Orochimaru discovered Madara’s hidden base and warned Tsunade and Jiraiya, while the Great Toad Sage also identified Madara as the Uchiha Ghost who had returned.
• Liao Wu tried to flee with Obito and Ryūsetsu, but Hiruko and Madara’s forces pursued them, and Liao Wu resolved to stop running when the Curse Marks threatened his companions.
• Orochimaru, Tsunade, and Jiraiya confronted Madara at the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path, while Liao Wu arrived with the Flame Uchiha Gunbai and Moon Ring Sickle.

Madara Uchiha returned to battle and defeated the Sannin, capturing Tsunade as Minato carried Jiraiya to safety. As the Leaf prepared for war, Liao Wu remained with Madara, gathered the Ninja Cats, and set out for the Land of Rain.

• Madara revived himself, restored his sight with Liao Wu’s eyes, and fought the Sannin with his Susanoo and Wood Style while Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru struggled to stop him.
• Madara killed Orochimaru and Jiraiya and captured Tsunade, but Minato rescued Jiraiya, who survived thanks to a Slug fragment and was taken to Mount Myōboku for treatment.
• The Third Hokage gathered the Leaf forces as Ryobu challenged Konoha, used his Sharingan to control shinobi, and declared war before dying in an explosion.
• Madara occupied Kusagakure, while Ryobu urged him to awaken Obito’s Mangekyō Sharingan by hurting Rin, and Madara instead ordered Black Zetsu to possess Obito and forbade Ryobu from harming Tsunade.
• Orochimaru escaped Liao Wu and planned to use Impure World Reincarnation on Hashirama, while Liao Wu discovered his Ryūchi Cave contract had been severed.

Madara’s resurrection drove the Uchiha clan into a tense bargain with Konoha while Minato’s team searched the Land of Rain for Nagato and the Rinnegan. Liao Wu infiltrated Akatsuki and revealed himself as Uchiha Ryobu, leaving Kakashi and his companions facing him as Danzo and Minato maneuvered around Hanzō.

• Shisui and the Uchiha returned from the Mist front, and Fugaku revealed at Naka Shrine that Liao Wu had resurrected Madara, prompting the clan to debate whether to defect.
• More than a thousand Uchiha marched to the Hokage Building, where Fugaku negotiated an agreement that sent him and Inabi to Anbu and the other Uchiha to the coast, while the Third Hokage promised to nominate Fugaku for Fourth Hokage.
• Minato learned from Jiraiya about Nagato and the Rinnegan, then led Kakashi, Rin, and Kurenai to the Land of Rain as Kakashi mourned Obito and learned that Tsunade had been captured.
• Liao Wu joined Akatsuki, healed Great Buddha, treated Nagato’s eyes, and secretly used his Sharingan and Life Spores while offering Konan medical training.
• Nagato attacked Liao Wu after discovering him with Konan, but Liao Wu survived, admitted he had come to protect Nagato’s eyes, and faced Akatsuki members demanding that Yahiko step down.
• Minato met Danzo in Amegakure and learned that Hanzō had confined Root, while Danzo considered using the threat of Madara to gain Hanzō’s support and advance his Hokage ambitions.
• Minato’s team encountered Ryobu outside the Crimson Sake House, and Ryobu confronted Kakashi, Rin, and Hong after blaming the Leaf for his defection.

Liao Wu’s clashes with Akatsuki and Minato culminated in Yahiko’s death and Nagato summoning the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path. As Nagato neared collapse, Minato moved to destroy his Rinnegan while Madara arrived in the Land of Rain.

• Liao Wu fought Nagato at Akatsuki’s base, then used a Spore Clone to turn Minato and Nagato against each other before leaving the group divided.
• Minato reported Nagato’s Rinnegan to Danzo, who planned an attack on Akatsuki, while Madara traveled toward the Land of Rain with Tsunade and Karin.
• Yahiko led Akatsuki to meet Hanzō, but Hanzō and Danzo sprang a trap and forced Konan to choose between killing Nagato and letting Yahiko die.
• Liao Wu took Hanzō’s Kunai through his chest to spare Konan, then pretended to die before reviving and helping Konan escape with a Life Spore.
• Hanzō seized Yahiko and demanded Nagato’s Rinnegan, but Yahiko killed himself with an Explosive Tag, driving Nagato to summon the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path.
• Minato and Liao Wu fought as Nagato battled Hanzō and Danzo, while Tobi regained control of Obito and Black Zetsu ordered him to kill Rin.
• Ryobu’s forbidden Fire Style attack caused a massive explosion, and Ryoma emerged from the rubble missing an arm as Liao Wu sensed Madara’s arrival.
• Hanzō trapped Candy and Snow Leopard and kicked Konan aside, but Minato reached Nagato and raised his Kunai to destroy the Rinnegan.
