Liao Wu impersonated Sasori to infiltrate Sunagakure, where he manipulated its leaders and grew close to Temari’s family while preparing to interfere with Shukaku’s sealing. Pakura uncovered his identity and confronted him in the Demon Desert, where their battle escalated into a clash of powerful techniques.

• Liao Wu used Sasori’s Regeneration Core to control battlefield fighters, forcing Pakura to concede, then claimed he had investigated the Third Kazekage’s disappearance and blamed a masked Mangekyō Sharingan user.
• Chiyo and Ebizo took Liao Wu in, and he learned about Sasori’s childhood and his parents’ puppets while asking Chiyo whether she could reunite Sasori’s family.
• Rasa and Karura agreed to seal Shukaku into their unborn child, while Liao Wu tried to volunteer and then recruited Temari to spy on her parents so he could protect Karura and the baby.
• Liao Wu healed Kankuro from a scorpion sting and later revealed himself to Chiyo as Sasori, who admitted killing the Third Kazekage and explained that Uchiha Ryobu had taken his Regeneration Core and impersonated him.
• Liao Wu altered Ebizo’s suspicions, and the elders lifted Sasori’s wanted status, and Liao Wu then continued posing as Sasori while exploring the village and asking Heimaru to obtain the Inuzuka Clan’s Twin-Headed Wolf Transformation.
• Liao Wu gave gifts to Temari’s family, but Pakura connected his Wood Style abilities and unusual behavior to an impostor and led him away from Karura’s home into the restricted Demon Desert.
• Sasori emerged from Liao Wu’s chest and revealed that he had altered Chiyo and Ebizo’s memories, and Candy reflected Pakura’s attack, and Pakura identified Liao Wu as an impostor who intended to steal Shukaku.
• Pakura confronted Liao Wu over the Third Kazekage’s death, and after Scorpion admitted turning the Kazekage into a Human Puppet, Liao Wu accepted her challenge and fought her with Susanoo and the Flame Gunbai as Pakura countered with Wind Release.

Liao Wu manipulated Pakura and attacked Sunagakure during the sealing of Shukaku, capturing the One-Tails as the village was thrown into chaos. With Rasa dead and the Sand captives in his hands, he forced Chiyo to explain the Life Reincarnation technique.

• Pakura exhausted herself fighting Liao Wu and Sasori, and Liao Wu restrained her after defeating her.
• Liao Wu learned that Rasa and the Sand High Command had arranged Pakura’s death, while Konoha negotiated with Kakuzu and Minato left to train at Mount Myōboku.
• Liao Wu tried to persuade Pakura to help him seize Shukaku, then left as Sasori attacked the Sand elders and Chiyo began sealing Shukaku into Karura’s unborn child.
• Liao Wu interrupted the sealing, saved Karura and Gaara, and fought alongside Sasori as the Third Kazekage puppet and Rasa clashed.
• Liao Wu seized Gaara and restrained Karura and Yashamaru, while Shukaku was released and rampaged through the Sand altar.
• Liao Wu used the Sharingan to control Shukaku, then summoned a giant Wood Golem and captured the One-Tails despite the Sand forces’ resistance.
• Scorpion killed Rasa, while Pakura found Temari and promised to help rescue her mother.
• Liao Wu threatened Sasori to make Chiyo reveal Life Reincarnation, and Chiyo explained how the technique had once given Sasori’s puppet parents life.

Liao Wu seized control of Sunagakure, captured Shukaku, and left Pakura to become Kazekage as Temari vowed revenge. Meanwhile, Nagato and Konan attacked Takigakure for the Seven-Tails, drawing Jiraiya, Shisui, Kakuzu, and finally Liao Wu into a battle that ended with Jiraiya confronting him.

• Liao Wu restored Chiyo’s youth and took control of her and Pakura, while Chiyo sought Sasori’s Regeneration Core technique to restore consciousness to his parents’ puppets.
• Liao Wu captured Shukaku and departed Sunagakure, leaving Chiyo to announce the beast’s loss as Karura accepted responsibility for Gaara and her other children.
• Chiyo and the Sand Village commanders chose to retreat, while Temari vowed to avenge Rasa and became Pakura’s student as Pakura accepted the role of Fifth Kazekage.
• Nagato and Konan’s forces attacked Takigakure and seized the Seven-Tails’ sealing artifact, but Kakuzu’s fire destroyed it and freed the beast.
• Jiraiya confronted Nagato and Konan, while Shisui redirected the Seven-Tails’ attack and used Kotoamatsukami to make it his Summoning Beast.
• Konan summoned Candy, who revealed Liao Wu had captured Shukaku and reverse-summoned him to Takigakure after Sasori completed Rasa’s Human Puppet.
• Liao Wu arrived in Madara-like armor, rejected Jiraiya’s offer of Hokage support unless Monkey and Danzo committed ritual suicide, and trapped Jiraiya in an illusion before Jiraiya answered with Frog Sound.

Liao Wu captured the Seven-Tails and devastated Takigakure, then used deception and force to pursue the Two-Tails and Eight-Tails. Shisui lost his Mangekyo Sharingan stopping Liao Wu’s plan, while Jiraiya led Takigakure’s survivors toward the Ninja Alliance.

• Liao Wu and Candy transformed into the Two-Tails Bimyo and fought Jiraiya, Kakuzu, and Shisui as the Seven-Tails revealed its name was Chongming.
• Liao Wu took control of Takigakure’s Ancient Tree, which trapped and drained the Seven-Tails, while Shisui regained his strength from Chongming’s Chakra and awakened Susanoo.
• Liao Wu’s battle with Shisui and Chongming devastated Takigakure, but Minato, Jiraiya, and the Toad Sages intervened as Liao Wu unleashed the Senju Great Buddha.
• Shisui used Kotoamatsukami to try to bring Liao Wu back to their side, but Liao Wu had separated himself from the controlled clone and pursued Shisui for his Mangekyo Sharingan.
• Shisui gouged out his own eyes to stop Liao Wu from taking them, and Minato later teleported the survivors to safety after Takigakure had been destroyed and Chongming captured.
• Liao Wu rejected Black and White Zetsu’s orders to capture the Eight-Tails and Two-Tails, then traveled toward Amegakure while a clone went to find the Cloud Village group.
• Liao Wu tricked Yugito by appearing as a wounded white kitten, then confronted the Fourth Raikage and Killer B and used his Sharingan and vines to control Killer B.
• Killer B transformed into the Eight-Tails after Liao Wu insulted his rap, while Jiraiya led Takigakure’s survivors toward the Daimyo’s Mansion and Kakuzu urged them to join the Ninja Alliance.
