The other side had only two people: Baki, a ninja from Sunagakure, and someone dressed as an Anbu, wearing a mask that hid their identity.
Kakashi and the others noticed Chen too. Guy greeted him, "Hey! We meet again, young man!"
"Mm!" Chen nodded without saying anything, then looked toward Baki and the other mysterious figure.
"Well, well! Another enemy has arrived. Looks like we'll have to retreat!" The mysterious figure dressed as an Anbu spoke in a relaxed tone. Although he was facing four Konoha ninja, he didn't sound nervous at all.
Kakashi was about to say something when something happened by the enormous Four Violet Flames Formation behind them. The barrier had been dispelled, and two Sound Ninja were carrying Orochimaru away, with two more following behind. Three Konoha Anbu tried to pursue them, but a Sound Ninja trapped them in a web.
"Kakashi, they've made their move. Should we pursue them?"
"No. Wait."
"Exactly. If we rush after them without knowing what's going on up ahead, we might fall into the enemy's trap!" the mysterious figure dressed as an Anbu said.
"I don't need you to tell me that. Trap or no trap, we can't let the enemy get away. That's what Konoha ninja do!" Guy retorted.
"I'll leave them to you. I'm going after them!" Chen said, then took off after Orochimaru without waiting for Kakashi and the others to respond.
"So... you were just watching the whole time, Kabuto?" After Chen left, Kakashi stepped forward and addressed the mysterious figure.
"Looks like you saw through me!" The figure removed his mask. It was Kabuto Yakushi.
"Hey! What should we do now?" Baki quietly asked Kabuto.
"We should retreat too!"
Seeing Kabuto trying to retreat, Kakashi immediately said, "Trying to escape right in front of me again?"
"That's right. If I fight you, you'll copy my moves. By the way, you don't seem able to use the Sharingan as well as the Uchiha Clan, do you?" Kabuto looked at the three Jonin before him, sounding completely at ease. He didn't seem nervous at all.
"Well then, farewell!" Kabuto gave a strange smile, then he and Baki formed a hand seal at the same time.
"Poof!" Like Shadow Clones being dispelled, the two of them turned into clouds of smoke and vanished without a trace.
"Damn it, they got away!" Guy was frustrated to see Kabuto escape right in front of him.
"Forget them. The barrier is gone, and Orochimaru has retreated. We don't know what's happening with the Third Hokage, so let's go find him!" Kakashi said, then darted toward the place where the Third Hokage and Orochimaru had fought. Genma Shiranui and Guy hurried after him.
Meanwhile, Chen, who had been about to pursue Orochimaru, stopped on the trunk of a large tree.
"Orochimaru should have had both arms sealed by the Third Hokage with the Reaper Death Seal by now, and he looks pretty weak. Should I take the chance to kill him?" Chen was tempted. Orochimaru was a veteran Kage Level fighter, and killing him would surely earn a huge number of Points, not to mention the reward for that hidden mission!
"Better not. Orochimaru's survival skills are famous. In the Original Story, all kinds of villainous bosses ended up biting the dust, but Snake Uncle lasted until the very end. Then he immediately used the Disguise Technique, blending into the tree trunk. The Disguise Technique was a low-level jutsu taught at the Ninja Academy. Naruto Uzumaki had used it in the first episode of Naruto to hide from the two Chunin pursuing him, but Iruka had seen through it. Normally, even an ordinary Chunin could detect him, but the Sound Ninja was fleeing for his life and didn't sense Chen's presence at all. Hidden from view, Chen waited for the Sound Ninja to come to him.
In the blink of an eye, the Sound Ninja leaped onto the tree trunk where Chen was hiding. He was just about to push off from the trunk and keep going when Chen suddenly grabbed his dangling arm.
"Nani?" The Sound Ninja instinctively turned around to see what had grabbed his hand, but all he saw was a fist—a fist coming closer and closer to his face. His pupils rapidly widened, but he didn't have time to react. Then he heard a crack. He knew it was the sound of bones breaking, and it came from his neck. The world went dark, and he couldn't feel anything anymore.
Chen punched the Sound Ninja in the face. The immense force snapped his neck and sent him flying a long way, until he crashed into a house.
"Ding! Host has killed one Jonin. Reward: 5,000 Points. Host's total Points: 89,043."
Then Chen went over to the Sound Ninja's corpse to see what he had done to him.
"I took him out with one punch! Getting hit by Power Fist really did leave him in a terrible state!" The Sound Ninja was well and truly dead. A clear fist mark was pressed into one side of his face, and his neck was twisted at an unnatural angle.
Just then, an Anbu with long purple hair and an outfit like Chen's suddenly appeared beside the Sound Ninja's corpse. It looked like she had been chasing him.
"He's dead. Looks like he was killed by a single heavy punch. Even his neck was broken. What incredible strength!" The Anbu looked toward Chen, who was standing nearby.
"Are you Anbu too? Which squad are you with? What's your code name?" the purple-haired female Anbu asked Chen.
"Uh! Uzuki Yugao?" Looking at the purple-haired Anbu in front of him, Chen thought of someone and blurted out her name.
"You... how do you know my name? Tell me your squad and code name!"
"Uh... well... look, a plane!" Chen suddenly pointed behind Uzuki Yugao and shouted.
"A plane?" Uzuki Yugao reflexively glanced behind her, but there was nothing there. When she turned back to look at Chen, he was gone.
"Damn bastard! You actually tricked me! Don't let me find out who you are!" Uzuki Yugao was furious to realize someone had fooled her, especially since she didn't even know who he was. After cursing for a few moments, she left.
