In the forest, everyone listened as Kankuro explained what had happened.
"Genjutsu? What kind of genjutsu? Neither you nor Gaara could break it on your own?"
"That's right. The terrifying thing about that genjutsu was that there was absolutely no way to break it. It pulled you into a strange space, where I had no control over my own body. Uchiha Sasuke tortured me there for a full seventy-two hours, until the genjutsu wore off. Once it did, everything went black and I lost consciousness. When I woke up, I saw all of you. I don't know how I ended up here, either."
"Seventy-two hours? How is that possible? It's only been an hour since I set out for Konoha. And you said you met Uchiha Sasuke around noon. At most, only an hour has passed since then. How could it have been seventy-two hours? Maybe being caught in the genjutsu scrambled your memories?" Temari questioned Kankuro's story. She wasn't the only one; the other rookies also thought he must have gotten something wrong. After all, it sounded far-fetched, and they had never heard of Tsukuyomi, the Strongest Genjutsu.
Only Kakashi's expression changed when he heard Kankuro's words. He blurted out, "Tsukuyomi!"
"Tsukuyomi? That's right. When Uchiha Sasuke cast the genjutsu on us, he did say those two words. And while he was torturing me in that mysterious space, he told me several times that it was Tsukuyomi Space." Kankuro hurried to explain.
"Tsukuyomi? Is that the name of the genjutsu? I've never heard of it. Kakashi-sensei, do you know something about it? Can you tell us what Tsukuyomi is? We may have no choice but to fight Sasuke later. If his genjutsu is that powerful, we need to understand it first and figure out how to deal with it."
