Uchiha Chen understood that even if he refused, Shion would still seize the chance to slip out of the Land of Demons. The world outside was complicated now, and Chen really couldn't let Shion wander around on her own.

If anything happened to her, he would truly be letting Miroku down. She had only just found her daughter, and although Chen hadn't quite gotten used to it yet, the fact was the fact: Shion was his daughter, and he would never let her come to any harm.

In that case, he might as well take her with him. With Chen looking after her, that was better than letting Shion run around on her own.

"I can take you with me, but you have to listen to me. Things are unsettled outside right now, and even I can't guarantee we'll be safe. Otherwise, I'd rather keep you locked up here."

"Mm-hmm." Shion nodded her little head. In truth, she didn't need Uchiha Chen to tell her any of this. Even though the Land of Demons didn't get involved in the wars outside, that didn't mean it had shut itself off from the world. They still knew what was happening elsewhere.

She had heard that the war in the Ninja World was raging fiercely. There was no guarantee that someone on their own would be safe out there.

In most respects, Shion was actually quite obedient. All she wanted was to be by Uchiha Chen's side. Nothing else mattered.

Seeing Shion agree so readily, Chen realized she hadn't understood what he'd said at all. All he could do was sigh. He'd have to keep a close eye on her when the time came.
