"I've got some really good stuff in my room, Brother Moqian. Do you dare come and see?"
At that, Su Moqian scoffed.
"Hah, I bet they're just some prank toys. You think I'd be scared of those?"
Kiana smiled, then took Su Moqian by the hand and led him toward her room.
"Come on, you'll see when you get there!"
Chapter 50: It's the best having Kiana as a best friend!
Bedroom. Kiana had forcibly dragged Su Moqian inside.
As soon as he entered, Su Moqian warily checked his surroundings to make sure there weren't any traps.
But Kiana didn't say a word. She went straight to fiddling with the DVD player on the table.
Then she took a disc out of a black-and-red case and put it in.
Next, Kiana plopped down on the bed and patted the space beside her.
"Brother Moqian, get on the bed. Come watch this with me."
"Are we just watching a movie?" Su Moqian asked, puzzled, as he climbed onto the bed and sat beside Kiana.
There was no denying that watching a movie on a rainy day had a wonderful atmosphere.
"What? Looks like I misunderstood Kiana."
As the movie began, Su Moqian stopped thinking about it and immersed himself in the plot.
But as time went on, he quickly realized how wrong he'd been.
He never would have guessed that Kiana had dragged him into watching a horror movie on a rainy day!
Su Moqian had hated that sort of thing ever since he was a kid. Even watching Lam Ching-ying movies made him jump in fright.
The time he remembered most clearly was when he was little and watched It with Mei.
At the scariest part, he'd been so startled that he shot right up out of his chair, soaring more than half a meter into the air. He hadn't even known how he'd managed it.
After making a fool of himself in front of Mei that time, Su Moqian had never watched another horror movie or read another horror novel.
But he never would have imagined that after avoiding them for so long, he'd end up falling into Kiana's hands.
And so, just as the movie reached its climax, Kiana's voice rang through the room.
"Aww, Brother Moqian, are you blushing? Come on, let me see~"
Su Moqian's slightly panicked voice followed.
"Y-you, stay away from me!"
For once, Su Moqian didn't try to act tough.
This time, he was too scared to talk tough.

"Brother Moqian, aren't you super brave? So why have you been watching with your eyes closed? Open them already."
As she spoke, Kiana leaned closer, trying to pry Su Moqian's eyes open by force.

"Come on, open them."

Meanwhile, at the Su family home.

Just then, Bronya's voice came from behind her.
"By the way, Big Sister Mei, haven't you thought to ask which friend's house Moqian is staying at?"

As time passed, Kiana's giggles and Su Moqian's cries kept ringing out, gradually drifting from the room.
At the same time, the elderly couple downstairs heard the noises from above and fell into thought.
