Background / History

Mei grew up alongside Su Moqian after the Su and Raiden families became close. The two were childhood friends for more than a decade and became a couple a year before the story's opening. 2

After Raiden Ryoma's imprisonment, Mei became isolated at Senba Academy. Her classmates avoided, mocked, and vandalized the desk of the former ME Corp. heiress, while school authorities were instructed not to interfere. 6 7 10 12

Before the main Honkai incident, the Herrscher of Thunder within Mei briefly connected to Su Moqian's System through electromagnetic force and showed Mei fragments of the future. Horrified by the future she witnessed, Mei resolved to change it, practice the Hokushin Sword Technique, uncover the Honkai threat, and eventually reconcile with Moqian. 2

Her feelings for Su Moqian are intense and frequently expressed through denial, jealousy, and possessiveness. She is especially unsettled by Kiana and Bronya growing close to him, yet she is capable of reconsidering her first impressions and accepting Kiana's friendship. 6 15 26 48
