The White Devil Who Lost His Mutant Powers?

Gwen carefully set Su Mu down and asked with concern,

"What's wrong? Why did you suddenly fall out of the sky?"

Su Mu put on a flawless performance, using Six Eyes to control his body with exquisite precision. Not a single detail in his expression or movements seemed out of place.

"N-no! Why have my mutant powers suddenly disappeared?!"

Hearing Su Mu's helpless words from afar, the Prowler burst out laughing.

"Hahaha! Didn't see that coming, did you? We got our hands on a Mutant Inhibitor Device secretly developed by the military. Your mutant powers will be suppressed for at least an hour!

"For that hour, you'll be no different from an ordinary person. One bullet will be enough to kill you!

"And I, the Prowler, will be the one who kills the demon!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the Prowler turned into a blur and charged at Su Mu at incredible speed, but Gwen stopped him.

The Prowler's expression turned cold as he faced the Spider-Woman blocking his path.

"You again, Spider-Woman. This time, I'll kill you and the White-Haired Demon together!"

In the next instant, the two clashed. Neither gained the upper hand at first, but that wouldn't last. Several figures were speeding toward them from the distance—Kingpin's men, most likely.

Su Mu spotted a few familiar faces among them:

Tombstone, a supervillain who was impervious to bullets and had a body temperature high enough to burn; Scorpion, another supervillain like the Prowler, clad in high-tech armor; and the female Doctor Octopus, with four high-tech mechanical tentacles welded to her back!

Gwen also spotted the three approaching supervillains. She kicked the Prowler away, wrapped him up in Silk, and fastened him to a streetlight. Then she scooped up Su Mu and swung away on her Silk.

"How long until your powers come back?"

Spider-Woman tried to shake the supervillains chasing them, but she had to dodge gunfire from a wave of gang members who'd suddenly appeared. She couldn't pull away—in fact, they were gaining on her.

At Gwen's question, Su Mu gave a careless laugh.

"Who knows... Maybe it'll take a while. Or maybe they'll come back in the next instant!"

Gwen was so annoyed by his flippant answer that she felt like dropping the White-Haired Demon on the spot. But remembering that he'd once saved her, kindhearted Gwen held back.

She snapped at him,

"Could you take this seriously? If they catch us, you're dead!"

Su Mu looked innocent.

"But I'm telling the truth!"

The Mutant Inhibitor Device could only suppress Su Mu's powers as a mutant. All his other abilities remained intact and usable, except for Energy Absorption.

Even Energy Absorption was recovering rapidly. It would be fully restored in about five minutes—nowhere near the hour the Prowler had claimed.

So Su Mu hadn't been lying to Gwen. He could use his powers at any moment. Didn't that mean they could come back at any moment?

Kindhearted Gwen had no idea the despicable white-haired man was messing with her. By now, she had no spare energy to talk to Su Mu; all the villains had caught up.

Shhk!

With help from his companions, the Prowler broke free of the Silk. He was the fastest among them, and soon caught up. He used a throwing knife to cut Spider-Woman's Silk, sending Su Mu and Gwen crashing to the ground, where they were surrounded by a horde of supervillains.

Faced with so many supervillains, Gwen felt the pressure mounting. Still, she tried to stay optimistic.

"Oh, this is really bad. I don't know what to do..."

Su Mu, still in Gwen's arms, encouraged her.

"Believe in yourself. You can do this!

"And if you really can't, I'm still here!"

Before Gwen could say anything, the Prowler sneered,

"White-Haired Demon, you can barely protect yourself without your mutant powers, and you think you can protect someone else?

"You can't protect anyone!"

Scorpion, covered from head to toe in exoskeletal armor, looked at Su Mu with contempt.

"So that's the White-Haired Demon? He's nothing special!

"Little Spider, white-haired boy—it's time to die!"

Several mechanical legs extended from Scorpion's lower body, and he charged at Su Mu and Gwen.

The stinger on his back rose high before darting toward Gwen, aiming to kill her and Su Mu together!

Gwen had just dodged Scorpion's stinger when Doctor Octopus's mechanical tentacle struck her and sent her flying. Su Mu, who she'd been holding the whole time, was sent flying too, and the two were separated.

Su Mu landed steadily using only an ordinary person's physical abilities, then immediately got to his feet and looked toward the distant sky. Through Six Eyes, he could see a helicopter hovering ten kilometers away.

At that distance, even his Level 3 Six Eyes could make out only a blurry outline. If his instincts hadn't told him that the helicopter was watching him, he might not have noticed it at all.

Su Mu was growing impatient. The helicopter had been hovering there for a long time, and it probably wasn't going to come any closer...

In the distance, Gwen was being attacked by several supervillains at once and was at a severe disadvantage. She couldn't spare a thought for Su Mu.

The Prowler came up to Su Mu and grinned viciously.

"The mighty White-Haired Demon is about to die here. I bet today's going to be the fourth headline to shock the world!"

Su Mu still wasn't paying attention to him. Even at a moment like this, he was looking into the distance instead. The feeling of being ignored infuriated the Prowler.

"So arrogant. Fine. That'll make your screams all the more satisfying!"

The Prowler charged at Su Mu, but before he could reach him, Gwen reappeared and stepped in front of him.

"Maybe you won't get the chance to kill him!"

The Prowler saw Gwen's injuries and smiled cruelly.

"No. You're both going to die here!"

Purple light flashed beneath the Prowler's feet. His already incredible speed surged even higher as he charged at Su Mu and Gwen.

Gwen tried to grab Su Mu and dodge, but her earlier injuries suddenly flared up, freezing her for an instant. In that brief delay, the Prowler appeared in front of her and drove his sharp claws toward her abdomen.

"Die!"

His claws were too close. Even Spider-Woman's agility wouldn't be enough to dodge them.

Gwen could only watch helplessly as the claws drew closer, about to pierce her abdomen and kill her and the White-Haired Demon together...

But just then, her vision blurred. A tall figure suddenly appeared in front of her. Then a magnetic voice, tinged with impatience, came from ahead.

"Looks like it's not coming any closer... How dull. What a waste of my time!"

Gwen saw the white-haired man who had suddenly appeared reach out. The Prowler's body immediately stopped in front of him!

The white-haired man casually swung his arm. A powerful repulsive force erupted, blasting everything in front of him—including the Prowler—away.

Gwen stared dumbfounded at the Prowler, crushed into a bloody pulp by the immense force. She looked at the fan-shaped field of ruins stretching dozens of meters ahead, swallowed hard, and then heard the man in front of her muttering,

"Tsk, tsk, tsk. Kingpin and that helicopter are running away?

"That won't do. Looks like I'll have to hurry up and finish off these people!"
