Limitless Technique Lv. 3

Cursed Energy reinforced his body, Energy Absorption absorbed the energy from Cyclops's optic blasts, and Reverse Cursed Technique repaired his constantly damaged palms. With all these enhancements, Su Mu was able to withstand optic blasts that could easily pierce steel using nothing but his flesh and blood!

The system's notifications kept ringing in his ears:

Compared to Energy Absorption, which was harder to gain experience for even after reaching Lv. 3, the Limitless Technique, which was only Lv. 2, was rapidly gaining experience. In a short time, it was on the verge of leveling up!

Su Mu blocked Cyclops's optic blast with his palm, then took another step forward!

The terrifying pressure surged instantly. The powerful repulsive force of the Technique Reversal: "Red" spread hundreds of meters in every direction, crushing and collapsing countless buildings along the way!

Everything vanished into dust with the demon's every step!

Faced with the sudden surge of repulsive force, even Storm and Phoenix, working together, couldn't resist the overwhelming force.

The X-Men were immediately flung away. Though Phoenix's telekinesis softened the impact, they were still scraped and battered by the flying rubble!

The sound of shoes hitting the ground continued. The terrifying White-Haired Demon hadn't stopped walking!

Even as they quickly set up their defenses again, the immense pressure around them immediately reached the limit of what Phoenix and Storm could withstand!

Under such immense pressure, it seemed that the defenses they had worked so hard to establish would be destroyed by the terrifying repulsive force at any moment, and they would be crushed to dust by its unstoppable power!

Cyclops scrambled to his feet, fighting through the pain radiating throughout his body. He summoned all his strength and fired optic blasts from his eyes at the White-Haired Demon before him!

Storm did the same. She rode the wind through the air, repeatedly summoning powerful lightning bolts to strike the White-Haired Demon!

But faced with attacks even stronger than before, the White-Haired Demon, who had previously blocked the optic blasts with his hands, no longer tried to stop them. Instead, he grinned at them!

Because just moments ago, Su Mu had heard the system's notification in his ears:

The dazzling lightning and scorching optic blasts froze just as they were about to hit Su Mu!

The scorching optic blasts, which had still been able to inch forward moments ago, could no longer advance. Instead, they were repelled even faster!

The instant the Limitless Technique leveled up, a flood of information poured into Su Mu's mind. Its range rapidly expanded from ten centimeters beyond his body to twenty, then thirty... and finally stopped at fifty centimeters!

Compared to Lv. 2, the Limitless Technique's range had increased fivefold. It could now easily block even the optic blasts it hadn't been able to fully withstand before!

The X-Men could no longer pose even the slightest threat to him!

Seeing this, Cyclops asked in disbelief:

"What just happened? Why did my optic blasts suddenly stop working?"

Just moments ago, his optic blasts had been able to threaten the White-Haired Demon, but a few seconds later, they couldn't threaten him in the slightest!

Professor X answered his question.

"The White-Haired Demon's defensive ability has suddenly undergone a qualitative leap. He's completely ignoring your optic blasts...

"Just as I thought! My guess was right!

"His strength is constantly increasing as time passes!"

Realizing this, Professor X immediately understood that they were nowhere near a match for the White-Haired Demon. If they wanted to set him on the right path, they would need to make a much longer-term plan.

So he immediately called out:

"Son, stop! We mean you no harm!"

But the White-Haired Demon kept walking, showing no sign of stopping!

Under the immense pressure, Phoenix, who was mainly holding up their defenses, trembled all over. Wounds of all sizes covered her body, bleeding freely. It seemed she would be unable to withstand the attacks before her at any moment.

The fiery red in her pupils grew increasingly vivid, as if she could lose control at any moment!

Seeing this, Professor X grew even more anxious. If Jean lost control now, her battle with the White-Haired Demon could destroy all of New York!

As he tried to calm Jean, Professor X once again pleaded anxiously with the White-Haired Demon before them:

"Son, we mean you no harm. If we've upset you, we'll leave right away!"

But the White-Haired Demon kept walking. Even Storm and Cyclops noticed something was wrong with Phoenix. They looked at the advancing White-Haired Demon and at Professor X, who was barely keeping Jean under control, and despair washed over them.

They didn't know whether Jean or the White-Haired Demon would win, but they were all doomed—and New York would cease to exist!

They had only wanted to recruit the White-Haired Demon into Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, yet they had caused such a terrible disaster. Now they all regretted it, but the catastrophe was about to happen, and there was nothing they could do to stop it...

Given the White-Haired Demon's usual, unrestrained way of doing things, none of them believed he would suddenly stop and spare them!

But as they faced despair, waiting for Phoenix to lose control completely and fight the White-Haired Demon, they suddenly saw that at the very moment Phoenix reached her breaking point, the White-Haired Demon stopped!

The terrifying pressure vanished in an instant. At some point, the White-Haired Demon had stopped attacking. He watched them coldly, and the fear of death wrapped around them, making it impossible to breathe.

Time dragged on in the oppressive silence. The stillness around them lasted for several minutes...

Suddenly, the X-Men saw the White-Haired Demon move. They immediately went on full alert, bracing for a terrifying attack that could come at any moment!

But what happened before them left them stunned. The White-Haired Demon, who had just seemed intent on killing them, took a step and disappeared from where he stood, vanishing without a trace...

"What..."

The terrifying crisis had suddenly passed, leaving him at a loss. After all, the White-Haired Demon had just wanted to kill them, but now he had apparently decided to consider their invitation.

Storm asked uncertainly:

"Could he really have been swayed by the Professor?"

Professor X was drenched in sweat. He had finally pulled Jean back from the brink of losing control. Hearing Storm's question, he nodded.

"It's possible, but unlikely. I lean more toward the second possibility—that the White-Haired Demon has some kind of danger-sensing ability, or even the power of Future Sight!

"He foresaw Jean losing control with that power, and that's why he left."

Hearing the Professor's explanation, Storm and Cyclops, apart from Phoenix, who had fallen unconscious from overusing her powers, carefully recalled what had happened. They realized that the Professor's theory seemed more likely.

"Did he awaken another Mutant ability, or did he already have it and only just show it?"

Cyclops had never seen a Mutant with so many different abilities!
