Background & History

Mei attended Senba Academy in Chang Kong City, where she was known as a bookworm. Kevin fell in love with her shortly after transferring to the school. 4

During the Third Honkai Outbreak, Moth of the Fire recruited Mei as a scientist after taking notice of her published research on quantum entanglement. Kevin joined the organization as a soldier rather than be separated from her. 5

After the Sixth Honkai Outbreak, Mei proposed the Flame Chaser project: enhancing soldiers with Honkai Beast genes so they could fight increasingly powerful Herrschers. Her simultaneous advocacy for the Divine Key project and her assertive conduct within Moth of the Fire provoked its upper ranks, who sent Poisoned Cocoon to assassinate her. 7

Sakura's assassination attempt failed when Kevin captured her during a lakeside date with Mei. Mei identified Sakura's Moth of the Fire-made weapon, exposing the organization's involvement. She later used Sakura's concern for her sister Ling to secure Sakura's cooperation; Sakura rebuilt Poisoned Cocoon into a unit that removed hostile elements within Moth of the Fire. 8 14

Mei was an exceptionally capable researcher whose work repeatedly shaped Moth of the Fire's anti-Honkai strategy.

Blank Key Operation

The Blank Key is a suit of armor that embeds Herrscher Cores and incorporates its wearer's body into its design, briefly connecting a human to Imaginary Space and allowing them to temporarily become a Herrscher. Mei originally developed it for Kevin, believing he could surpass its limits once he understood what he fought for. 19

• Mei relocated its research facility to an isolated Pacific island to conceal it from the Tenth Herrscher. 19
