Sharingan Awakening

Kirigakure lost too many of its core shinobi in the war, dealing a devastating blow to the village's strength.

The Mizukage's Office.

"Lord Third, your decision this time was a serious mistake. The village suffered heavy losses, and the losses among our clans were just as severe. Many clan elders—even clan patriarchs—died because of your decision."

"But for such a steep price, the gains were pitifully small."

"Lord Third, shouldn't you give us an explanation?"

The Mizukage's Office was packed with shinobi dressed in all manner of clothes.

The Third Mizukage, seated behind his desk, opened his eyes, which he had kept shut for years.

"You've finally come!"

It might have been relief, or perhaps an accusation. But no one in the office could understand what he meant.

"Hmph! So what if we've come? You're no longer fit to be Mizukage. Step down!"

"Fine!"

To the surprise of the great clans, the Third Mizukage agreed to their demand with little resistance.

"Then Karatachi Yagura, prepare to take the office of Mizukage. How are the Tailed Beast sealing formulas coming along?"

An elderly shinobi from the Kaguya Clan stepped forward. Their Patriarch had lost his life on the battlefield, but they were an ancient clan with deep roots, and that was enough to make them the leaders of this push to force the Mizukage from office.

As for Karatachi Yagura, his clan was small—not worth mentioning compared with most of the clans present. He was little more than a puppet they had agreed to put forward.

"Yes, I'm nearly ready. Let's hold the ceremony the day after tomorrow!"

After hearing the Kaguya elder, Karatachi Yagura stepped out from the crowd.

"You'll make a fine Mizukage, but beware of the eyes lurking in the darkness."

Looking at the young Karatachi Yagura before him, the Third Mizukage let out a breath.

Two days later, the Three-Tails was extracted from the Third Mizukage and slowly absorbed into Karatachi Yagura.

"Starting today, I am the Fourth Mizukage!"

After completing the Tailed Beast sealing ceremony, Karatachi Yagura announced it to everyone around him.

The clan patriarchs and elders exchanged glances, their faces breaking into satisfied smiles.

What they didn't know was that the Three-Tails' eyes had turned red after it was absorbed into Karatachi Yagura.

The Third Mizukage, forgotten in a corner, wore a relieved smile.

In the Land of Rain, Hanzo of the Salamander frowned as he read the growing number of reports about the Akatsuki Organization.

"Hmph! These troublesome organizations. Shindai, gather information on their members and make sure they're brought under control."

After hearing Hanzo's order, Shindai of the Salamander dropped to one knee and accepted it.

"Yes, Lord Hanzo."

"Also, Danzo of Konoha has sent someone to contact us again. He wants to cooperate, and he's willing to compensate us for the misunderstanding last time."

Hearing his subordinate's report, Hanzo, now growing old, no longer possessed the wisdom of his youth. He could no longer tolerate others' excellence, convinced that everyone posed a threat to him.

"Hmph! Tell him to bring the compensation first."

And so, under Hanzo's orders, Amegakure began its campaign to crush the Akatsuki Organization.

What Hanzo didn't know was that Danzo had provided most of the intelligence about the Akatsuki Organization.

Time passed slowly. A year had gone by since Haku had received the Sharingan and Byakugan.

As Haku slowly guided Chakra through his eyes, the world seemed to slow down all at once. Everything also became much clearer.

"So this is the Sharingan Awakening. A whole year... That was no easy feat."

Haku understood that what he had just felt was the Sharingan Awakening. He casually picked up a mirror.

The young man in the mirror had sharp brows and bright eyes. One eye looked normal, while the other was completely red, with a single Tomoe slowly turning within it.

Looking at the latest information about the Sharingan provided by the system, Haku tested it himself. Aside from sensing that his perception had improved, he also felt that his Chakra had increased.

Haku had been worried that the Chakra he'd spent the past year refining would all be consumed by the Sharingan. But it seemed the year of nurturing hadn't made the Chakra disappear. Instead, it had become nourishment and energy for the Sharingan, stored inside his eye. When the eye awakened, the stored Chakra was released alongside the special energy produced as the Sharingan advanced.

That energy was enough to raise an ordinary person to Genin. But for Haku, who was already a Jonin, it had only increased his Combat Power by 10 points.

Looking at his Combat Power, now at 155, Haku felt just how difficult it was to grow stronger at this stage. According to the system's estimates, reaching Quasi-Kage Level required 200 points of Combat Power, while reaching Kage Level required 500. As for anything beyond that, he couldn't know yet.
