Background / History

Haku is a transmigrator whose mature soul lets him sense mental energy unusually easily. He struggles to sense physical energy while beginning chakra extraction, realizing that practical chakra refinement is more difficult than his prior knowledge suggested 3.

As a child in Konoha, he trains alongside Might Guy, Might Duy, and Uchiha Yu. He investigates an attempted Hyuga kidnapping with Yu, deliberately leaving Duy behind because Duy lacks the strength for the confrontation 5. After being injured in the incident, Haku and Yu coordinate their accounts of what happened; their cooperation develops into a close bond of trust 7 8.

Yu reveals her unusual dual ocular powers to him: a one-tomoe Sharingan in her right eye and a Byakugan in her left. Haku accepts her secret, calls them companions, and promises not to expose her 8. His Saiyan bloodline begins exerting its power after his injury, influencing his decision to involve himself in Yu’s affairs 8.

During the Second Shinobi World War, Haku serves with the Konoha medical unit and treats many frontline ninja. He later suffers severe injuries from Killer B and the Third Raikage, losing an eye that Orochimaru cannot heal 31 34.
