"Brain hurts..."
The God of Nightmares woke from a nightmare and vigorously rubbed his head, which was made entirely of Black Mist. He was an Innate Deity, one of the oldest gods, but as time passed, he gradually absorbed various new beliefs. As a result, his mental state had slowly shifted from his initial state of having no desires and merely acting according to his Divine Duty toward something more human.
He did not resent this change. Or rather, compared with indiscriminately inflicting nightmares on every human like some natural phenomenon, he preferred how he felt now, even if part of his current personality came from his believers' perceptions.
Of course, this was not really a problem. As his humanity gradually increased, he also began to learn how to obtain even more changes for himself by merging, accommodating, and creating more Divine Duties.
But in these millions of years, this was the first time he had encountered a headache-inducing situation like this.
Unlike the mad woman, the Lord of Incubus—the God of Nightmares' term for her—who would fly into a rage and throw a tantrum over the slightest displeasure, the God of Nightmares had a steadier personality and was more adept at using rules.
Yet precisely because of that, his journey through School Hell was more akin to that of ordinary people who had accidentally wandered into a nightmare than the Lord of Incubus's mad dash toward the Imaginary Number Zone. As a result, a great deal of knowledge that gods should not possess had found its way into his mind.
"The Native Dream System originated from 'senior year,' and it's a typical nightmare-type system. However, because of the sheer number of senior students, this nightmare seems to be showing signs of transforming into a god."
