Background and History

Chen Chen created the Black Knights as a covert rapid-response unit separate from the overt Black Security Service. Their cloned bodies are directed through implanted God chips, which Little X can program with skills and training routines. Chen Chen intended the unit to be a force that operated out of public view 170.

Production expanded at the Spire experimental base. An initial batch of 50 Black Knights was dispatched while larger batches were being prepared. The earlier A-number clones could be trained to ordinary human physical limits; later T-number Black Knights, enhanced with the T-Virus, became Chen Chen’s principal combat force. A-number units were reassigned to confidential factories and research support 185 272.

The first T-Virus batch grew into exceptionally strong giants, but Chen Chen considered their size a liability for covert work. Gene debugging brought the second batch of 100 down to ordinary human height and build. Ten of them were sent to protect his parents from the shadows; the rest joined the unit affiliated with Terra Strategic Resources Company 232 238 243.

Black Knights subsequently served as portal scouts, guards, and expeditionary troops. They investigated worlds reached through the USB drive, retrieved data and equipment, and took part in operations including the occupation of the Ark Experimental Base. Their effectiveness did not remove the risk of loss: a Hive laser cut one Black Knight in half, after which Chen Chen recovered its God chip for use with another body 206 274 402 512 513.

Appearance

Black Knights are generally presented as blank-faced operatives in dark, close-fitting clothing. Their appearance varies by generation and equipment 243.

• Early T-version: The first experimental subjects grew into giants; Subject No. 1 exceeded twice normal human height 238.
• Second T-version: Gene debugging kept their height between 1.7 and 1.8 meters and their builds within the normal human range. The batch included 50 women 243.
• Standard dark outfit: A Black Knight wearing the locally manufactured suit, outer coat, high collar, gloves, and combat boots resembled the villain from Chen Chen’s film Crisis Point: Shocking Plan 243.

Abilities and Skills

God-chip control

The God chip directs a Black Knight’s body and can be supplied with skills and training instructions by Little X 170 238.

• Black Knights obey orders without hesitation and have no thoughts, sense of pain, or consciousness of their own 206 450.
• A recovered chip can be placed in a replacement body 206.
• Their adaptability is inferior to that of ordinary humans. Chen Chen considers them better suited to conventional combat and simpler covert tasks than to a complicated kidnapping involving international airports and security checks 243 247.

T-Virus enhancement

The T-Virus accelerated clone growth and produced soldiers with strength, speed, endurance, and recovery beyond ordinary human limits 232 238 243.

G-358 transformation

One Black Knight was used to test G-358, an optimized G-Virus compatible with Black Knight biology 467.

• The injection transformed it in under fifteen seconds into a creature over three meters tall and more than 400 kilograms, with protective keratin and bone spurs 466 467.
• Its transformed state had greater agility, defense, and regeneration than a Tyrant. During their test fight, it developed an exoskeleton and killed the Tyrant with bone spurs 467 468.
• The effect lasted about fifteen minutes. After reverting, the subject appeared emaciated and severely depleted 468.

Equipment

• God chip — implanted control system that directs the body and stores programmed capabilities 170 206 238.
• GS Battle Suit / Protective Suit — advanced protection used by expeditionary Black Knights 293 402 512.
• Locally manufactured black battle suit — less protective than the GS Battle Suit, but tested against 1,000-joule AK-round impacts 243.
• PK Armor — combat armor issued to selected Black Knights for dangerous portal expeditions; it cannot be manufactured with Black Light Technology’s available technology 223 512.
• Pulse rifles, GS Swords, and reconnaissance drones — carried together by a heavily equipped team sent into the DOOM world 512.
