Background / History

The Spirit Source Land began as Yang Zhengshan's Spirit Spring Space. After his Innate Realm breakthrough, its terrain ceased to be a featureless plain: hills, wind, a pale outer sky, and an enlarged spring pool appeared within it. 474

Yang Zhengshan and Yu Qingyi spent years planting and developing the expanding space. They concentrated on its southern ridges and plains, while more distant northern regions were seeded and left to grow naturally. 670 Yang later revealed the space to his three sons and proposed building a village inside it for selected households. 690

After eight years of migration and construction, the population exceeded 50,000, with Longevity City as its principal settlement and towns and villages spreading downstream along the Spirit River. 760 Yang Zhengshan formally renamed the Spirit Spring Space the Spirit Source Land, renamed Longevity Village Longevity City, and established the Lingyuan Yang Clan under his leadership. 759

The land's nature became clearer when Yang Zhengshan cultivated the Void-Refining Scripture. Its first spirit spring was identified as the Origin Core, and Yang discovered that his divine soul had already fused with it. 822 823 This connection eventually revealed that the Spirit Source Land was the Life Realm of the Life Realm Immortal Palace, a Spirit Treasure whose Spirit of Artifact is Yang Zhengshan himself. 1046 1048

As its territory and population grew, the former clan-centered settlement developed into White Jade Capital, with large-scale cultivation, manufacturing, commerce, migration, and new cities across the grotto-heaven. 1072 1115 1154

Geography

• The land is generally higher in the north and lower in the south. Its eastern, western, and northern regions are mountainous, while the south began as a broad plain. 648
• After the Foundation Establishment expansion, northern mountain ranges included peaks exceeding 2,000 zhang; a lowland 500 li south of Spiritual Spring Mountain Plateau was expected to become a major lake. 866
• Its later terrain is organized around three great rivers:
  • Spirit River — central waterway.
  • Red Glow River — western waterway.
  • Qingsha River — eastern waterway.
    These rivers, along with spirit springs, streams, and lakes, flow toward the Spirit Abyss Sea in the far south. 1018

The Spirit Source Land originally used a Clan Council incorporating more than thirty families, but this system was later judged too limited for its scale. It subsequently moved toward the administrative model of White Jade Capital. 759 894 Its rules emphasize equal treatment and equal responsibilities for Yang Family descendants and other resident families, even though the Yang Family retains dominant administrative authority. 1118

Spirit Fields and Spirit Spring Water

• At an earlier radius of more than 100 li, all land in the Spirit Source Land qualified as spirit land:
  • Fields along spirit-spring rivers were upper-grade Spirit Fields exceeding the quality of Lingxiu Sea's upper-grade fields.
  • Mountain forests and other areas were generally middle-grade Spirit Fields. 778
• Spirit Spring Water increases potential by strengthening root bones, physique, meridians, and the Dantian. 841

Spirit Veins and Mineral Deposits

Following the Foundation Establishment expansion, the land possessed eight spirit springs, two Spirit Veins, three mineral veins, a second-rank Fire Vein, and a rich Earth Vein. 866

Production

The land develops planting, beast taming, textiles, Spirit Insect breeding, alchemy, artifact casting, and formations under dedicated regulations. 812 Its principal commercial specialties include tobacco, liquor, tea, and Spirit Wine. 812 822

Its economy later formed a full production chain covering planting, processing, manufacturing, sales, and procurement. Flying boats and puppets became priority industries, while goods were exported through Lingxiu Sea, Qingli Immortal City, and True Sun Immortal City. 1115

Resource Limitation

The Spirit Source Land's spiritual energy is finite. Cultivators, Spirit Plants, Spirit Fruits, Strange Beasts, and other forms of cultivation all consume the energy replenished by its spirit springs; unchecked growth can thin the land's spiritual-energy concentration. 823

Origin Core Connection

Yang Zhengshan's divine soul is fused with the Origin Core, giving him a connection in which he perceives that he is the Spirit Source Land and the Spirit Source Land is him. 823 So long as the grotto-heaven is not destroyed, this connection gives his divine soul a basis for continued existence. 831

Entry and Exit

• Initially, Yang Zhengshan alone could freely enter and exit the land. When entering, he could appear anywhere inside; when leaving, he could only return to his original outside location. 800
• The Void-Refining Scripture provides a method to grant others access through Divine Soul Spirit Seeds planted in their divine souls. 822
• Yang Zhengshan established Cave Heaven Portals to enable instant travel between the land and the outside world. 823

Spatial Anchors

After the land's transformation into a small world, Yang Zhengshan could place an external anchor point anywhere within his Spiritual Sense range. By entering the Spirit Source Land and emerging from the chosen point, he could effectively move instantly across roughly 1,000 zhang. 867

The Spirit Source Land supports ordinary residents, martial artists, Immortal Cultivators, Strange Beasts, demonic beasts, Spirit Insects, and Spirit Plants.
