Compared with Old Wang, Master Shan was superior in every way, both in strength and cunning. But there was one thing he lacked that Old Wang had.
Old Wang believed in the supernatural, while Master Shan was stubborn and refused to.
When Jiang Ying warned him, Old Wang took her words to heart and listened with profound respect. Master Shan, however, thought too highly of himself. He didn't believe that Jiang Ying's tricks could pose any threat to him, so the moment Shadow Binding wore off, he tried to fight back.
Control Talismans were no joke.
Jiang Ying still wanted to leave Master Shan alive as a dog, or else it wouldn't have been just his arms that exploded. His whole body would have blown apart.
With both arms gone, Master Shan's arrogance vanished in an instant. He was already badly injured and hadn't had time to recover; now his wounds were worse than ever. He looked like a sick chicken, all fight gone out of him, lying in a pool of blood and struggling feebly.
The man was tough. Despite his terrible injuries, he didn't cry out in pain. The muscles in his face twitched rapidly as he clearly struggled to endure the agony.
Yet his gaze remained defiant. He glared at Jiang Ying with hatred, spat disdainfully, then turned his head sharply to the side, as if he'd rather fall than lose face.
Old Wang showed him no mercy. He grabbed a nearby bamboo stalk, shaved it down with a few quick strokes, and tore off a strip about three fingers wide. Then he lashed Master Shan hard across the body with it.
"Still not giving in? You've still got the nerve to glare at me? You're a defeated loser. Don't get cocky! What's with that sour face?"
