The Squad Assembles
In front of other people, Han Jingjing was actually the calmest of them all. Of course, she had her own personality, her little quirks, and plenty of emotions. But her upbringing, the image she maintained, and the position she held all meant she had to keep her composure in public.
After everyone had had a chance to talk with Jiang Yue, Han Jingjing finally stepped forward with a bright smile. "Little Jiang, have you gotten so comfortable here that you've forgotten to go home? I'm starting to wonder if you're planning to settle down and start a family in the Underground World."
"Jingjing, you're not wrong. These past few years, my second brother's done incredibly well in the Underground World. There are so many people trying to play matchmaker and introduce him to their daughters, they've nearly worn down his doorstep."
Several years had passed, and San Gou had grown into a lively young man. The faint fuzz on his upper lip gave away his age, though, leaving him with a touch of youthful awkwardness.
Han Jingjing laughed. "Are all those matchmakers blind? Instead of introducing someone to a spirited young man like our Gouzi, they're all fussing over him?"
San Gou grinned. "I'm still a kid."
Everyone burst out laughing.
Lin Yifei and Li Yue were nowhere in the crowd.
Jiang Yue found it a little strange, but he didn't ask. As if she could read his mind, Han Jingjing gave him a knowing smile. "Little Jiang, you keep looking around. Are you wondering if we're still missing people?"
Jiang Yue laughed. "Nothing gets past you. But we've got enough people here as it is."
