Geniuses Set Out
Faced with this standoff, Eagle Country was obviously unwilling to accept the situation. Although no large-scale clashes had broken out so far, Eagle Country was the one losing in this deadlock. After all, this was their territory, and they had barely managed to hurt the Underground Race, while the damage caused by the Underground Race's raids was growing day by day, plain for all to see.
The destruction visible to the naked eye might not have been extensive, but the challenge to Eagle Country's dignity and its long-standing pride and arrogance was undoubtedly a heavy blow.
The terrain chosen for the Underground Race's stronghold was so advantageous that Eagle Country had little hope of sweeping the area clean.
No heavy weapon could reach deep underground. More importantly, the stronghold the Underground Race had chosen on the Kodo Plateau spanned at least several hundred kilometers, and lay at a great depth.
The most powerful bunker-busting missiles in the Surface World could probably only reach a depth of a little over a hundred meters.
But the Underground Race's stronghold lay deep beneath the plateau, at least several hundred meters below the surface, and perhaps one or two thousand meters. Combined with its terrifying depth, it was practically a completely independent world. It was connected to the Underground World and yet lay close to the surface, in the middle ground between the two.
It could attack when advancing and defend when retreating.
Though it was already far from the Underground World, it still lay a safe distance from the Surface World. The Kodo Plateau's unique terrain had undeniably given the Underground Race an extraordinary advantage.
Eagle Country had, of course, considered every possible plan.
After several days of haggling, the demands made by the two young geniuses were finally approved.
