Jiang Yue had his own thoughts on the base's security defenses. Although he hadn't been heavily involved in building them, he had spoken with Uncle Ye about them in private. Uncle Ye was always open to good advice and liked to take Jiang Yue's opinions into consideration.
Managing such a vast base was difficult, especially one built around a residential complex.
It was nothing like a factory.
In a factory, the functions of the workshops, dormitories, and office areas were all clearly defined. The different areas were also relatively open.
A single wall around the factory grounds could provide an initial barrier between the base and the outside world.
New Moon Bay was an old residential complex. It had walls too, but there were so many buildings, each with so many units and so many households. And each household was isolated from the others.
In fact, the many small, separate spaces within the complex made managing the base vastly more difficult.
On top of all those apartments, the complex had an enormous basement, where countless cars were parked.
Managing the surface was already difficult. Managing the basement was undoubtedly even harder.
Even with plenty of people on hand, completely covering such a vast basement was an enormous challenge.
In the supernatural world, plenty of beings—human or monstrous—could emerge from underground.
Even setting aside anything that might come up from below, any human could disguise themselves as a new recruit and sneak in to cause trouble. If they were careful enough, they would be very difficult to detect.
So, in Jiang Yue's view, even a human base had to learn to coexist with bad people and with monsters.
The base might have tighter defenses, but it was still a small society. It was impossible to shut out every dark element completely.
