Other times, too many people meant too many opinions, which was not necessarily a good thing.
In a situation like this, if there were only one or two people, it would be relatively easy to reach an agreement. But with everyone talking over one another, even someone with firm convictions would find it difficult to persuade everyone else and get them all to follow his lead.
But time wasn't waiting for them.
If they kept waiting and something happened to Lord Tong at the New Moon Bay base, those who had been following Tong Jiangnan would lose their backing. All their previous efforts would go to waste, and from then on, they would have no one to rely on among the Agents. They would find it hard to stand up straight in front of Agents from the other two factions and would lack confidence.

If something happened to Tong Jiangnan, even if they weren't implicated, they would have no one to stand up for them if they were pushed around or bullied without him to rely on. Chances were, life would become difficult.
Most importantly, Tong Jiangnan was one of Lord Tree Ancestor's trusted favorites—perhaps even the most favored of them all.
If something happened to Tong Jiangnan and these people did nothing, would Lord Tree Ancestor accept that? Would he take his
