Warmth, the Snow Empress's Teasing

After successfully talking the Ice Empress onto his boat, Shu Yan's quiet life in the Extreme North Land gained a little more fun.

The Ice Empress's personality was not actually that bad. She had only disliked Shu Yan because of her prejudice and loathing toward humans. In terms of personality, the Ice Empress and the Snow Empress, these two sisters, actually had some similarities.

Both were aloof by nature, but compared to the Ice Empress, the Snow Empress was more rational and viewed things from broader, more varied perspectives. Their shared trait, however, was that both of them could be rather stubborn.

Put simply, neither of them ever left themselves a way out when doing something. They believed that once a decision had been made, they had to give it their all. Opportunities only belonged to those who were prepared and courageous. As for creatures that did not dare to try and were born submissive, the only outcome awaiting them was death.

There was no mercy in the world of the weak. Mercy was a privilege the laws of this world reserved for the strong. In this regard, they were the same as Shu Yan—they believed only in the truth that the strong ruled, unwilling to believe in the so-called charity of the strong.

The three of them got along better and better, and the Ice Empress simply moved directly into the Snow Empress Palace. The Snow Empress had long grown used to the Ice Empress mooching food, drinks, and lodging, so naturally she said nothing. Shu Yan had nothing to say about it either. Though the Ice Empress had a sharp tongue, once she had set her mind on a path, she was indeed much more serious.

Whenever she had free time, she personally taught Shu Yan how to control Extreme Ice and passed on some practical combat experience. Shu Yan had already possessed exceptional talent, and under the Ice Empress's guidance, he gained a deeper understanding of Extreme Ice and even his own martial soul. At the same time, he gradually gained control of the Heavenly Snow Woman bloodline within him, so that when he returned to the human world, he would not have a repeat of what happened last time, when his bloodline aura concealed his human aura and caused others to treat him as a transformed soul beast.

Time quietly passed amid the unchanging scenery of the Extreme North Land, making it impossible to tell exactly how long had gone by. In such an empty, desolate world, people's emotions seemed to be affected as well, gradually becoming numb and cold, slowly losing their passion for the outside world.

The bonfire crackled. In the freezing temperatures of the Core Circle, it should have been impossible to light an ordinary flame like a bonfire. Yet this posed no difficulty for the Snow Empress. She merely needed to slightly control the Ice Attribute Heaven and Earth Elemental Power in the space around the bonfire and raise the temperature a little.

Watching the plump Snow Rabbits skewered on branches and roasting over the fire, sizzling as grease dripped from them, the Ice Empress swallowed repeatedly in a most unflattering manner. One hand tightly clutched Shu Yan's sleeve as she muttered:

"Keep an eye on them. Don't burn them, or I definitely won't let you off..."

The Snow Empress watched this scene quietly from the side, a smile in her beautiful eyes. A warm current surged through her heart, making her feel immensely comfortable.

Seeing that the Ice Empress's drool was practically about to drip onto his robe, Shu Yan's eyes flashed with helplessness. As he expertly sprinkled on various seasonings, he said:

"Wipe your drool first. Also, I have to remind you that this is already the seventh Snow Rabbit you've eaten today. At this rate, I'm afraid you'll wipe out every Snow Rabbit in the Extreme North Land within half a year..."

Naturally, Shu Yan was teasing her somewhat.

Though Snow Rabbits were low-level soul beasts with little combat ability, they were extraordinarily fertile. A single litter contained at least a dozen of them. Even if the Ice Empress ate until she burst, she probably could not make a dent in the massive Snow Rabbit population.

The Ice Empress raised her head with a somewhat proud tilt and said:

"It is their honor that I am willing to eat low-level soul beasts like them. Normally, I cannot even be bothered to spare such little creatures a glance."

Shu Yan nodded perfunctorily and continued:

"Yes, yes, yes. Then I'd better hurry up and feed you, little ancestor. If this keeps up, not only will you go hungry, I might starve to death here too."

A trace of anger appeared on the Ice Empress's face at his words. She viciously pinched Shu Yan's arm and snapped:

"Are you saying in a roundabout way that I eat too much? Shu Yan, I admit that the rabbits you roast are delicious, but a warrior may be killed, not humiliated. If I ever touch food you make again, I'll become Xue'er's dog!"

Shu Yan rubbed his arm, which felt as though it had snapped, and hissed softly. This little potato, the Ice Empress, looked so delicate and fragile, yet in reality, a single punch from her could blast straight through an iceberg. Even while deliberately holding back, her strength was still terrifying beyond imagination.

"Then you should keep eating. Becoming the Snow Empress's dog would be exactly what you wanted, wouldn't it? Who doesn't know you're a complete pervert, Ice Empress? Especially when it comes to the Snow Empress, you have no bottom line whatsoever."

Shu Yan's faintly mocking tone made veins bulge on the Ice Empress's fair forehead. She looked at Shu Yan, a frightening red gleam in her eyes. The next moment, she pounced at him with her teeth bared and claws out.

"If I don't bite you to death today, I'll have disgraced the title of one of the Three Great Heavenly Kings of the Extreme North, you bastard..."

Watching the Ice Empress leap up without even being able to reach his neck, Shu Yan found it rather amusing.

"You should eat more. With those little short legs of yours, even if I put a chair under you, you still couldn't reach me, let alone bite me to death."

The Ice Empress could no longer suppress the rage in her heart. Waving her little fists, she charged straight at him...

A moment later, Shu Yan and the Ice Empress sat beside the bonfire, each with a conspicuous lump on their head. The Ice Empress gnawed pitifully at a roasted Snow Rabbit. Between the tear stains and the grease smudged over her face, she had become a little mess, but she paid it no mind, merely lowering her head to deal with the Snow Rabbit in her hands, crisp on the outside and tender within.

The Snow Empress lay on her side atop an Ice Couch formed from condensed ice. She propped her head up with one hand and lightly covered a yawn with the other. Her posture was lazy and casual, while the amusement in her beautiful eyes deepened. Looking at the two of them, she chuckled softly.

"Mind yourselves when causing trouble in front of me. Otherwise, you're bound to end up with prominent bumps on your heads."

As she spoke, the Snow Empress shifted her posture slightly. The long white hem of her dress fell gently to the ground, exposing a section of calf so pale it nearly reflected light, along with those exquisite and delicious... ah, no, exquisite and rounded jade feet.

The Ice Empress was busy eating and naturally did not notice the Snow Empress's charm, but Shu Yan, who had been thinking about something, happened to take in the entire scene.

A faint curve rose at the Snow Empress's lips. Her snow-white, slender fingers curled lightly, and her voice carried a rare trace of seduction.

"What?"

"You have the nerve to look, but not the nerve to come up and touch? I'm in a good mood today. Perhaps I really might let you have your way."

The look in Shu Yan's eyes went blank for an instant, but he quickly snapped awake. A thin layer of cold sweat immediately soaked his back.

The Snow Empress truly deserved to be called the creature with the purest soul in the world. No matter how icy and frigid her aura was, merely revealing a trace of charm was enough to rival those human women whose martial souls specialized in seduction. In fact, compared with those human women, the Snow Empress's allure carried an additional sense of extreme contrast. The charm of a single glance had nearly caused Shu Yan, whose mind was stabilized by Extreme Ice, to sink into it.

Shu Yan did not dare imagine what it would be like if the Snow Empress fully unleashed her charm. But on second thought, perhaps no one capable of making a person like her do so had appeared yet. He wondered who would be fortunate enough to enjoy such beauty from the Snow Empress in the future...
