Background / History

Tang San was originally an outer disciple of the Tang Sect in Western Shu. He served as one of its most effective assassins, carrying out killings and poisonings without hesitation, before secretly stealing the inner sect's Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record. 325

Ten years before the revelation of his origin, the Asura God implanted Tang San's soul into the body of a child who should have died in the Douluo World. His father was Tang Hao, while his mother was a shapeshifting Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast. The Asura God protected Tang San from the world's attempts to erase him, giving him the fortune of a Child of Fortune and traits of a Child of Destiny. 191

Tang San initially cultivated Blue Silver Grass and concealed his Clear Sky Hammer as his second Martial Soul. He treated Tang Sect mechanical hidden weapons as his principal advantage, believing the Godly Zhuge Crossbow could threaten even higher-level Soul Masters. 318 372

His development changed after gaining a Man Faced Demon Spider Head Soul Bone and later the Poison Sting Beast's Soul Ring and External Soul Bone. Repeated use of Demon Spider Devour merged spider bloodline into his body, mutating both Martial Souls and pushing him toward bloodlust, predatory cultivation, and eventual classification as an Evil Soul Master. 326 409 470

Appearance

Tang San's appearance changes drastically as his spider bloodline and devouring cultivation deepen. After absorbing Changshu Nine Dragon Grass, he grows from a childlike figure into a broad, youthful adult appearance despite being only around twelve. 431

  • A distinctly pointed, conical head; he shaves the sides of his hair and wears the remainder in a spiky ponytail to conceal it. 447
  • Prominent musculature and an unusually broad physique after the Changshu Nine Dragon Grass transformation. 431 447
  • Bloodshot eyes and an increasingly visible evil aura during periods of agitation. 448
  • Purple-black Blue Silver Grass streaked with blood-red patterns; its leaves develop veins resembling spider legs. 409 410
  • A purple Clear Sky Hammer covered in carapace-like material and carrying venom. 435 449
  • Black spider-like fuzz grows over his arms after his forced rise to level 58. 455
  • During his City of Slaughter period, he becomes half-human and half-beast, with thick bristles that begin to fall away only after consuming human organs. 499 508

Personality

Tang San is calculating, ruthless, and highly accustomed to killing due to his life as a Tang Sect assassin. He habitually frames violent acts as righteous, including assassination assignments targeting civilians and poisonings of water supplies. 325

He is intensely possessive and protective toward Xiao Wu. Her injury or disappearance repeatedly provokes panic, rage, and indiscriminate killing intent, such as when he hunted the Poison Sting Beast while searching for her. 325 346

As his use of Demon Spider Devour escalates, Tang San becomes impatient with conventional cultivation, obsessed with rapid growth, and increasingly unable to restrain his bloodlust. He later loses control at the scent of blood, nearly continues attacking a defeated opponent, and develops hallucinations and conflicting personalities. 409 471 508

Abilities & Skills

Twin Martial Souls

Tang San possesses Blue Silver Grass as his primary Martial Soul and the Clear Sky Hammer as his concealed second Martial Soul. 372 433

  • Blue Silver Grass — Initially poison-oriented through his Soul Rings; later mutates into Evil Blue Silver Grass with dark, evil, bloodlust, poison, and devouring traits. 351 410 470
  • Clear Sky Hammer — A power-oriented Martial Soul initially kept secret at Tang Hao's instruction; it later gains spider-shell texture and venom through bloodline fusion. 372 435
  • His incompatible poison-oriented Blue Silver Grass Soul Rings prevent him from properly awakening the Blue Silver Emperor's power. 405
  • His Man Faced Demon Spider bloodline can suppress both Martial Souls, reducing his usable strength to roughly seventy percent when confronted by a superior spider-bloodline aura. 493

Mysterious Heaven Skill

Tang San's Tang Sect cultivation method produces his internal Soul Power and supports his hidden-weapon techniques. 318 326

  • Allows him to circulate and refine energy gained from consumed Soul Beast flesh. 408
  • Accelerates the fusion of Man Faced Demon Spider bloodline into his body. 409
  • Its unusual bloodline-devouring potential contributes to his increasingly unstable hybrid condition. 409 499
  • Cannot bypass Soul Ring bottlenecks on its own. 318

Demon Spider Devour

A Head Soul Bone skill derived from the Man Faced Demon Spider, used to extract life force, Soul Power, and bloodline traits through consumption. 408 409

  • Enables rapid recovery and accelerated cultivation through devouring Soul Beast organs and flesh. 408 448
  • Strengthens the poison in his Blue Silver Grass without requiring new Soul Rings or Soul Bones. 409
  • Fuses Man Faced Demon Spider bloodline into his human and Blue Silver Emperor bloodlines so deeply that removal would be nearly impossible without reincarnation. 435
  • Causes impurity accumulation, growing bloodlust, physical mutation, and spiritual instability. 409 449 471

Blue Silver Grass Soul Skills

  • Blue Silver Bind — His habitual opening control skill; uses vines to restrain opponents. 325 433
  • Parasite — Produces seeds that rapidly grow into attacking Blue Silver Grass. 326
  • Blue Silver Thorn — Creates brittle, poisonous barbs along the vines; gained from the Poison Sting Beast. 351 433
  • Numbing Bind — A Fourth Soul Skill from the Rock Vine that combines restraint with paralyzing poison. 431 433
  • Hell Vine Fifth Soul Ring — Added to Evil Blue Silver Grass during Tang Chen's forced enhancement program. 455

Clear Sky Hammer Techniques

  • Raging Power — His Clear Sky Hammer's First Soul Skill; increases its attack, strength, and speed by fifty percent while inducing a berserk state. 414 433
  • Chaotic Cape Style — Used imperfectly against Sea Dragon Douluo; Tang San loses control after several successive swings. 433
  • Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer — Practiced under Tang Xiao's supervision at Clear Sky Sect. 448
  • Great Sumeru Hammer / Exploding Ring — In a bloodlust-driven state, he detonates his first through fifth Soul Rings to force out power. 484

Tang Sect Hidden Weapons

Tang San retains Tang Sect assassination techniques and manufactures mechanical hidden weapons. 318 325

  • Godly Zhuge Crossbow — A top-grade mechanical hidden weapon capable of killing a Soul Ancestor; Tang San can fire multiple preloaded crossbows in succession. 326 433
  • Concealed weapons and poisoned projectiles — Often launched alongside Blue Silver Bind, with poisons potent enough to corrode his own vines. 325
  • Sleeve Arrow — Used to reveal his identity to Xiao Wu. 440
  • Mysterious Jade Hand and Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track — Tang Sect techniques used for mobility and physical combat. 325 346

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Twenty-Four Bridges Bright Moon Night — Storage Soul Tool used to carry hidden weapons and the Twin Martial Souls cultivation method. 326 393
  • Godly Zhuge Crossbows — Preloaded mechanical crossbows; Tang San once fired forty-eight poisoned bolts from four units. 433
  • Man Faced Demon Spider Head Soul Bone — Grants Demon Spider Devour and drives his bloodline mutation. 326 435
  • Poison Sting Beast External Soul Bone — Back spines used as poisonous projectile weapons. 347 453
  • Dog Lung External Soul Bone — Absorbed alongside the Black and White Dog's Soul Ring. 414
  • Soft Bone Charm Rabbit Hundred-Thousand-Year Torso Bone — Provides Teleportation and Invincible Golden Body. 488
  • Ten-Thousand-Year leg Soul Bone — Absorbed during Tang Chen's forced enhancement before the tournament finals. 455

Relationships

  • Tang Hao — Biological father. Tang Hao secretly monitors and supports Tang San's cultivation, teaches him to exploit Demon Spider Devour, and later sacrifices himself to save him; Tang San's feelings become complicated by resentment and desire for Tang Hao's Soul Bones. 351 408 412 414 448
  • Ah Yin — Biological mother, a shapeshifting Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast whose Blue Silver Emperor bloodline Tang San inherited. 191 404
  • Tang Chen — Great-grandfather and Clear Sky Sect elder. He takes Tang San to Clear Sky Sect, oversees his harsh training, and forcibly raises his power, but grows disappointed by Tang San's instability. 439 448 471
  • Tang Xiao — Paternal uncle and temporary father figure. He trains and protects Tang San, but their relationship fractures after Tang San's tournament violence. 448 455
  • Xiao Wu — Closest emotional attachment and the focus of Tang San's protectiveness. Her injury, absence, and safety repeatedly drive his reckless actions. 325 346 414
  • Yu Xiaogang — Teacher. Tang San follows his training regimen unquestioningly and later pressures him for the Twin Martial Souls cultivation method. 351 393
  • Chen Ming — Major adversary who repeatedly outmatches, manipulates, and defeats Tang San; their conflict helps drive Tang San's escalating use of spider-bloodline powers. 325 326 488
  • Asura God — The deity responsible for sending Tang San into the Douluo World and repeatedly protecting or directly controlling him as a pawn. 191 487
  • Bo Saixi — Purifies Tang San with Sea God's Light but withholds a Divine Trial after becoming displeased by his utilitarian attitude. 435 436
