Fang Yue felt completely bewildered.
He was like an internet addict riding a high-speed wave, suddenly cut off from the internet. He just froze.
The water before him had become turbulent and unpredictable, with no discernible pattern. He could no longer calculate the shape of the waves or how their currents would form.
The surrounding wind had turned erratic and strange. Its direction and strength shifted unpredictably, making it impossible to see its path, let alone harness it to boost his speed.
Even the Flowing Ice Footwork, which he had just mastered to perfection, suddenly felt unfamiliar and awkward. He was at a loss as to how to take his next step, like a complete beginner.
That marvelous feeling of seeing through everything was gone.
The world was still the same world.
But he could no longer see it with the same clarity. His eyes had returned to their ordinary, worldly state.
The river was just a river, and the sea breeze was just a sea breeze. They held no special meaning. He could no longer perceive the essence behind appearances or foresee how the things around him would change.
He had gone back to being his ordinary self.
For a moment, Fang Yue felt dazed. The immense drop was like falling from the clouds into an abyss, and it was hard to adjust.
Yet Fang Yue had to admit that this was what he was really like.
That mysterious, almost unfathomable state had only come about by chance, thanks to a little of the Demon Corpse's fortune that he had snatched.
Although the state had vanished, what he had learned was still imprinted in his mind.
He just wasn't used to losing that state so suddenly.
