A carriage trailing wisps of smoke raced along the main road.
Though it was night, the carriage still traveled at a brisk pace.
At the carriage's four corners hung Soul Lanterns to provide illumination. At the back hung a special sachet that automatically puffed smoke outward.
This sachet was called a Ghost-Avoidance Sachet.
Though its name sounded impressive, the smoke it emitted could only repel anomalies to a limited degree. Its effect was quite weak.
Of course, it was still much better than traveling in the wilderness completely unprepared.
Thinking back to what had happened earlier, Fang Yue asked softly from inside the carriage, "Is it really all right?"
Tail shook her head slightly.
"I'm not much use staying at the Extreme Ice Sect right now. Instead, I'm tying up a large part of the sect's top fighting forces, who have to divide their attention to protect me.

Tail's thinking was clear. She saw many things more clearly than Fang Yue did, so there was no need for him to offer her any guidance.
