The Ning Family of Skywind Martial City is an extremely distant branch of Qingzhou’s great Ning Family. Despite the local branch’s influence in Skywind, the Qingzhou main family possesses the deeper foundation, resources, and authority. The family distinguishes sharply between direct-line descendants and collateral branches; collateral lines depend on the main family’s support and can have their allowances reduced for poor performance. 25 131

The Skywind branch has established influence through Qingcang Academy, mineral-vein management, retainers, and marriage alliances. Ning Zhiyuan and Ning Yuanzhi came from collateral branches, while Ning Wuque was a direct descendant; Ning Lie’s collateral lineage controlled three mineral veins. 1 25 80

Shen Family Marriage Alliance
