Standing in the middle of the maze corridor felt like standing between two tall buildings. Beneath his feet stretched a broad, impressive commercial district, while the commercial buildings on either side represented the face of the city. The corridors varied somewhat in size, but even the smallest ones were nowhere near small.
In a maze this enormous, there were 162 correct routes whose repeated sections made up less than a third of their total length, not to mention all the dead ends and misleading passages designed to confuse players.
If the fifty-four people were scattered throughout it, they'd be lucky to run into two or three of them—unless the maze's starting points were close together.
But if that were the case, the linked item should have marked Liang Shuang and the other two.
Xu Huo hadn't been in the maze for half a day, yet he'd already run into more than ten players. Six of them had died, which was already a sizable proportion of the total. If the rules the game had stated were accurate, with encounters this frequent, by the latter half of the game, the remaining players would have to feel their way along the walls over and over to collect cards.

One of the pleasures of the Poker Card Maze should have been constantly swapping different cards to obtain updated information about the dungeon. If the cards couldn't circulate, what was the point of the game? Ten days was plenty of time to reach the finish line, even by feeling one's way there... So there had to be more than fifty-four players in the maze.
