"If you're trying to use this to bargain with me, don't bother." She rose, walked around the daybed, picked up the crystal goblet, and drained the flower dew inside.
Xu Huo watched her. "It's not a bargain. But you probably have no use for what he left behind."
Bai Kou turned back. Her face, subtly different from the one she had in District 011, wore an amused yet inscrutable smile. "Something valuable that I can't use? Do you know what you're saying?"
Xu Huo raised an eyebrow, his gaze clear and steady.
Bai Kou held his gaze for a few seconds before looking away. "If what you said is true, then it's certainly something I don't need. But plenty of others want it. If you're smart, you'll find somewhere to hide instead of making a spectacle of yourself at the Platinum Eye."
"I'm mainly here to have an item custom-made. Do you know anyone reliable you could recommend?" Xu Huo didn't mind letting his secret slip.
Bai Kou looked ready to laugh in exasperation. "What makes you think I'd help you?"
Xu Huo shrugged. "No matter. I'll find another way."
Though Bai Kou was rather annoyed, she still took out a business card and handed it to him. "This person has a strange temper. If you have good enough materials, go see him."
"Thanks." Xu Huo put the card away and prepared to leave, but Bai Kou asked, "Were those two people stealing from the outer castle your friends?"
Xu Huo paused. "Was one of them Flower Face?"
Bai Kou frowned slightly. "Let them go."
With that, she waved her hand and opened a doorway amid the sea of flowers, sending Xu Huo outside as well.
Beyond the doorway was the Mechanical Castle's limited-time exhibition hall. As soon as Xu
