Climbing the doll wall during the day would get them spotted by the surrounding dolls and doll people, who would treat them as targets. So they could only wait until night, when the carnival was putting on a show and many of the doll people would be drawn away. That would leave gaps in the doll people around the wall. This didn't happen every night, though. Usually, there were simply fewer dolls and doll people, and there was always a chance that Living Props might suddenly appear nearby. Still, things were much better than during the day.
Doll people and dolls didn't have the same standout attack abilities as Living Props, but there were so many of them, and they were physically strong. Dealing with them was much more troublesome than dealing with a single Living Prop.
To prepare for the night, Xu Huo and the others also had to look for tools already in the circus city that could serve as shields: equipment that was easy to move, little toys that could be used as a distraction, and, best of all, magic props.
