Chapter 817: Running for Their Lives
After ten hours of fast-paced travel, the intense physical exertion had begun to wear some of the players down. And despite walking for so long, the space alongside the tracks hadn't changed much. It had gone from morning to evening, and now it was time for night to fall again, but the sky had never once brightened.
"Let's stop and rest for a while," Duckbill Hat suggested. "I don't think there's any immediate danger, but that might not be the case if we keep going."
With dozens of players, the moment anyone fell behind, infighting was bound to break out.
The train conductor, however, didn't agree with stopping to rest. He had no obligation to look after the players, so after a brief discussion, he simply told everyone else that he was going to continue ahead.
Several players gathered around him. "It's not like we're refusing to move. We just want to rest for a bit. That's not unreasonable, is it? Besides, if something happens to the space, what difference will ten or twenty minutes make?"
The train conductor sneered. "Don't forget, you survived only because you were hiding inside train cars less than fifty meters away!"
When faced with a dimensional storm, you either lived or died. There was no room to struggle. Everyone there had survived purely by luck.
"If we go, we all go. If we don't want to go, then we all rest together." A bearded man stepped forward. "Let's vote. The minority follows the majority."
