Xu Huo arrived in District 041’s impoverished Silver District and found that a spatial distortion kept him from reaching the main city. He met Xiduo, who had triggered the Throne Tournament instance but was stranded outside its entrance, while Xu Huo’s own instance had yet to begin.
Xu Huo and Xiduo reached the Main City after crossing the Silver and Gold districts, but the city’s guards admitted them into a trap. Their game panels were sealed and poisonous gas incapacitated Xiduo.
Xu Huo and the other captured players were forced into an arena where spectators could grant contestants five seconds of prop activation. After a contestant used the brief window to kill his opponent and attack the arena, the organizers punished him by feeding him to beasts, leaving Xu Huo and the others to consider how little chance they had of escaping.
Xu Huo and Xiduo were selected to fight in District 041’s arena, but Xiduo’s attempt to break free triggered a crackdown. Xu Huo freed the imprisoned players and destroyed the arena’s restraints, then confronted three men who warned him to leave District 041.
Xu Huo entered the A-class instance “People in Glass Tubes,” where deadly gravity and poisoned air threatened the players. After learning the clearance objectives and hearing how District 041 had persecuted people, he continued toward the refuge city with Guo Xiaomao and Keke while Xiduo pursued their enemies.
Xu Huo, Guo Xiaomao, and Keke crossed a landscape where space had been replaced and distorted, then fled as the dungeon’s space began to collapse. The spatial storm caught up with them despite the Sky Light Domain, leaving their survival uncertain.
Xu Huo rescued Guo Xiaomao and Keke from a spatial collapse by reaching an endless blue ocean that displaced the storm. The three continued across the unfamiliar water, unsure whether they were still inside the dungeon or headed toward the City in the Dome.
Xu Huo, Guo Xiaomao, and Keke crossed a shifting ocean into a ruined city, where they found the wounded Xiduo. Xiduo abandoned his pursuit of District 041, and Xu Huo sensed that some of the players who had entered the instance were still alive.
Xu Huo’s group captured three players from District 041 but learned nothing from them before continuing toward the City in the Dome. They saw players desperately competing for shelter inside its glass conduits, and a sudden surge of gravity crushed everyone outside them to the ground.
Xu Huo and the others escaped a gravity disaster and learned that the glass tubes were safe zones in a Dungeon where players had to exchange places between inside and outside. An elderly woman urged the players to keep exchanging places through trust, but most dismissed her Ideal World as impossible.
Xu Huo learned about the City in the Dome, the proposed Glass Exchange Act, and the changes District 041 players suffered from repeated use of container items. After Guo Xiaomao and the others beat several District 041 players, Xu Huo exposed two more who had been watching.
Xu Huo entered the City in the Dome by exchanging places with a starving player, while the players outside scrambled to survive a sudden gravity imbalance and the appearance of an abandoned city. Inside, a spatial exchange replaced the city center with an orchard, and Xu Huo approached three observers with an offer to support the Glass Exchange Act.
Xu Huo subdued the players fighting over resources in the City in the Dome and forced them to vote on the Glass Act. After it passed unanimously, he began setting rules for players who had stayed more than ten days.
Xu Huo enforced the Glass Act and arranged for the longest-residing players to be exchanged out first while considering the dungeon’s lethal spatial hazards. As a storm gathered, he realized that the battlefields faced by super players could be far more dangerous than he had imagined.
After a purple lightning storm devastated the abandoned city, Guo Xiaomao fought Number Three, who attacked him with abilities, artifacts, and homing missiles. Number Three nearly crushed Guo Xiaomao, but an unseen attacker struck him down with Kaleidoscope Threads.
