Background / History

Sin Annihilation is the current successor in a succession of girls secretly trained by the Inquisition as killing tools. Each successor inherits the accumulated power of the previous Sin Annihilation; the Church replaces her when prolonged ability use completely corrupts her human core. At fifteen years old, she had carried her predecessor's power for five years, and the marks across her body were already physical mutations caused by its use. 322

Her power is her own rather than a Divine Spell, though the Truth Incantation's “Order” incorporates restrictions to make her manageable. Her ritualized “offerings” are psychological triggers that release predetermined bodily transformations, not sacrifices to an actual god. 322

She was awakened by Director Selace and ordered to assassinate the Revolutionary Army's leadership. Her instructions included an absolute prohibition on contacting clergy of bishop rank or above. 309 Using stealth, she crossed from Holy City Gloria to Torres City in only a few days, bypassed the army's guards, and observed Nid Bradwich, Loxue Bradwich, and Blood Emperor Ye before deciding Ye was likely the highest-priority target. 311 312

Initially, Sin Annihilation is expressionless, obedient, and emotionally detached. She follows Church orders mechanically, speaks in a flat tone, and possesses almost no social experience; mission success and threat assessment determine nearly all of her decisions. 309 312 328

Despite this conditioning, she can independently assess combat situations. During her first battle against Ye and Haoyue, she chose concealment and guerrilla tactics rather than a direct confrontation, treating an unsuccessful assassination as reconnaissance for a later attempt. 322 323

Her encounters with Sakura Dance gradually expose emotions she had not understood before: concern during their deadly gamble, shock and anger when Sakura Dance is revealed as an enemy, and sadness beneath her killing intent. 337 351 355 After failing her mission, she shows remorse and considers abandoning assassination; her decision to wear a high-class dress later causes Lateran Kair to suspect she has developed self-awareness. 358 381
