Background
Yu He unified Spirit Star's currency when he was nineteen, establishing the economic foundation behind his later influence. 8
He joined the Organization roughly two centuries before the main events, around the same period as Blood Fiend and Madam. Unlike many of its combat-oriented high-ranking members, Yu He built influence through financial resources, commercial networks, negotiation, and social acumen. 397
As founder and behind-the-scenes arbiter of the Gray Starling Group, Yu He became the figure who unified Spirit Star's economy. His group also supported the Revolutionary Army with material aid in exchange for postwar benefits, positioning it to control the West Saint Continent market if the alliance had endured. 589 512
Before the Central United Academy conflict, Yu He carried out preemptive economic intervention against nations closely tied to the academy. He also imposed a rule preventing Ye's actions from exposing her identity to the Organization as a whole, allowing individual members to notice her only when their interest in her was personal rather than organizational. 279 400
Appearance
Yu He appears as a young man in his early twenties despite his centuries-long life. He usually dresses in business casual clothing, with straight hair kept neatly combed. 586 589
- Missing one eye. 400
- Typically maintains the polished appearance of an office worker or white-collar businessman. 503 510
- Carries himself with a restrained, professional manner even when dealing with hostile high-ranking members. 397 586
- His physical athleticism is poor by his own account, though he can still descend from an airship and operate in dangerous situations. 279 400
Personality
Yu He is a pragmatic businessman who prioritizes profit, leverage, and sustainable advantage over direct confrontation. He is exceptionally skilled at reading people, building relationships, and framing cooperation as mutually beneficial; among the Organization's eccentric executives, he is regarded as its most socially adept member. 397
He usually presents himself as mild, courteous, and approachable, but this demeanor conceals a calculating mindset. He will employ hostages, restrictive contracts, economic collapse, poisons, and subordinates as tools when they improve his odds. 510 515 629 631
Yu He prefers incremental, risk-conscious planning rather than dramatic gambles. His strength lies in repeatedly making ordinary decisions, minimizing avoidable risks, enduring unavoidable ones, and capitalizing on the accumulated result. 631
He can also be sadistic and detached, including while entertaining himself with bound men. 506
Abilities & Skills
Law of Money
Yu He's Supernatural Ability allows him to pay money to bypass processes and directly obtain results that can be achieved through monetary means. Its effectiveness is supported by his immense wealth and access to Spirit Star's largest financial network. 150 627
- Can convert financial resources into immediate effects, including healing, movement, defense, and escape. 627 637
- His Monopoly can dominate an opponent's actions, rendering their attacks ineffective while making his own lethal. 630
- His ability operates through a “market”; destroying the associated Money Space can disrupt Monopoly. 630
- Debt itself becomes a deadly liability under his power, making financial obligations a form of coercion. 512
- He can impose rules and restrictions through contracts, including suppressing the strength of signatories. 515
- He created a rule that concealed Ye from the Organization collectively, though it did not prevent personally motivated individuals from recognizing her. 400
Money Space and Financial Manipulation
Yu He can establish a Money Space and weaponize large-scale financial activity.
- Activated Financial Storm during his battle with Ye Su. 630
- Mobilized global wealth through the Gray Starling Group, causing a worldwide economic shock and drastic reduction of wealth across multiple markets. 629
- Converted money into a hurricane of cash for high-speed aerial movement. 637
- Escaped physical damage by dispersing into banknotes and later reassembling through an ATM. 637
- Opened a gate made of banknotes to retreat from Ye's attack. 631
Contract Enforcement
Yu He's agreements are designed to create asymmetric but rationally acceptable arrangements.
- Kidnapped Little Butterfly and forced Ye's group into an unequal treaty that restricted their strength. 510 515
- Included a clause preventing himself from personally intervening until the opposing party could use its true strength, reducing the chance that Ye would reject the contract outright. 515
- Used “hush money” to bind Extra Weapon members into silence; when their property was transferred away from Gray Starling control, the restriction weakened with the value of the payment. 590
Defensive Measures and Contingencies
Yu He supplements his financial ability with layered survival measures.
- Bankruptcy Protection — redirects fatal harm by using his secretary Ankri as a shield. 631
- Cold Blood Poison — exploited his priority over Blood Fiend-derived Cold Blood and Blood Poison within Ye's body to trigger the poison. 631
- Can use shields made of cash, though they are insufficient to withstand Gustav's attacks for long. 637
Resources
- Gray Starling Group — Spirit Star's foremost financial organization, founded and secretly controlled by Yu He. 589
- Business Capital — Yu He's territory and the center of his economic influence. 523 524

- Extensive financial reserves — sufficient to influence global markets and fund Law of Money's effects. 150 629
Relationships
- Jili — Yu He's leader within the Organization. Yu He reported Ye as a destabilizing factor and volunteered to eliminate her, but later rejected Jili's loyalty after learning that high-ranking members were intended as sacrifices for the World Crossing Gate. 503 637
- Ye — initially targeted her for capture and sought her alive under the unequal treaty. During their final conflict, Yu He came to oppose the Leader's plan and shifted his loyalty toward Ye. 510 515 637

Story Role
Organization Executive
Yu He operates as one of the Organization's veteran high-ranking executives, using the Gray Starling Group's immense wealth to maintain influence without relying on brute force. He identifies Ye as a potential threat after learning of her connection to Blood Fiend and offers to eliminate her. 150 503
Business Capital Conflict
After the fall of Madam, Yu He takes Little Butterfly hostage and draws Ye's group into Business Capital. He binds them with an unequal treaty, deploys Extra Weapons against them, and uses global economic disruption to empower his final confrontation with Ye. 510 515 629
Ye eventually recognizes that Yu He's Monopoly depends on a market and destroys the Money Space to counter it. Despite suffering Return to Burial of the Other Shore, Yu He survives through his defensive preparations, poisons Ye with Cold Blood Poison, and escapes. 630 631
Break with the Leader and Death
While fleeing Gustav, Yu He concludes that the Leader intends to use the souls of high-level individuals to construct the World Crossing Gate. He denounces Gustav's continued loyalty and chooses to oppose the Leader's plan. 637
Yu He escapes Gustav by dispersing into banknotes, but Yusuo Zai kills him shortly afterward. 637
