Ciri was originally the princess of Cintra, a kingdom in the Northern Lands.
Her grandmother was Queen Calanthe, Empress of Cintra, known as the 'Lioness of Cintra'.
Her biological father was Emperor Emhyr var Emreis of Nilfgaard.
Therefore, Ciri was a legitimate princess, known as the 'Cintran Cub', and lived a life of comfort and luxury from childhood.
The only issue was the Law of Surprise concerning witchers. After the age of six, she was to be taken away by the witcher Geralt.
However, the witcher Geralt clearly had no intention of adhering to the Law of Surprise.
He came to the Cintra royal palace and met Queen Calanthe, but he did not take Ciri away, nor did he even ask for her name or gender.
Thus, Ciri grew up until now, in her teens.
She should have grown up carefree, perhaps even succeeding Queen Calanthe to the throne and becoming the next Queen of Cintra.
But at this moment, the southern empire of Nilfgaard launched the 'War of the North'.
The Emperor of Nilfgaard was Ciri's biological father, but he wanted to annex the Northern Lands and intended to marry his own daughter to gain legitimacy!
So, his first invasion was of Cintra. Not only did he annex Cintra, but he also caused the tragic 'Cintran Genocide'.
Ciri's grandmother, Queen Calanthe, the Lioness of Cintra, died a martyr's death.
And the Emperor of Nilfgaard, in order to obtain Ciri, sent his elite squad to capture her, intending to take her back for the wedding.
Ciri fought with all her might and escaped from the squad.
She ran tirelessly through the forest, and when she was exhausted, she suddenly felt her blood boiling.
Then...
The surrounding scenery became illusory, a thick fog appeared, and a portal materialized before her eyes.
Ciri had no time to think. Fearing discovery by her pursuers, she went straight through.
Afterward, she found herself in a rift. Stepping out of the rift, she saw a figure descending from the sky.
Kara, with her blonde hair and blue eyes, instantly made Ciri's eyes widen.
She was so beautiful, perfect, and radiant.
Ciri felt mesmerized.
Kara listened to Ciri's description.
Finally, she confirmed that Ciri was not from Earth.
She wasn't too concerned about this.
Because she herself was not from Earth; she was a Kryptonian.
"You're saying there was a door in front of you at the time?"
"Yes."
Ciri nodded, her eyes fixed on Kara, making Kara a little embarrassed.
Why did Ciri's gaze feel so eager?
"Can you still feel it? Or rather... how did you do it, can you go back?"
Kara was still young and suddenly lost her composure, wanting only to send Ciri back.
After all, Ciri was from another world, and Kara didn't seem to have the right to keep her.
At least her godfather should be the one to decide.
"Are you trying to send me away? Please, don't send me away."
Ciri immediately grabbed Kara's arm. Kara wanted to pull her hand away.
Because Ciri was too dirty right now.
Refugees were probably not this miserable.
But for Ciri's dignity, Kara held back.
"No, don't you miss home?"
Kara said.
"My home has been destroyed, I can't go back..."
Hearing this, a glint of hatred flashed in Ciri's eyes.
The iron cavalry of the Nilfgaardians seemed vivid before her.
Hearing Ciri's words, Kara suddenly felt a sense of empathy.
She began to feel a liking for Ciri.
If not for her godfather, she might have become a refugee like Ciri.
"Then..."
Thinking this, Kara said, "Come with me for now, to my home."
"Thank you."
Ciri didn't mind at all.
She thought Kara was a good person, and very powerful.
Most importantly, Kara had said this wasn't the world she knew, so only Kara could communicate with her!
The only person she could talk to, naturally, she had to stick close to.
"Hold on tight to me."
Kara, having made up her mind, didn't mind either and hugged Ciri.
She smelled fragrant and was comfortable to hold, making Ciri a little embarrassed.
She was filthy, surely she must have dirtied Kara.
Kara didn't feel like playing anymore.
After all, with Ciri, a visitor from another world, her pillar of strength wasn't around, and her mind was a bit chaotic.
When something happened, her daughter would naturally think of her old father first.
So, she enveloped Ciri with her bio-force field and immediately took flight.
"Ahhh!"
Ciri was startled, flying straight up from the ground, something impossible in their world.
Even sorceresses couldn't do it.
Kara was far more powerful than any sorceress.
"Stop screaming!"
Kara couldn't stand it and had to stop, waiting for Ciri to adjust before continuing to fly.
Fortunately, Ciri was very brave and adapted quickly.
Ciri loved to play.
In her childhood, she often traveled between Cintra and Skellige.
Skellige was an island nation overseas, and she often sailed across the sea when she was young, even learning to ice skate there.
Moreover, Ciri had once stumbled into the Dryad Sanctuary, Brokilon Forest, a place forbidden to humans.
She wasn't a person who could stay put.
Her nature was to love freedom and be very adventurous.
So, she looked at the world below in shock, her eyes unblinking.
Because Kara was carrying her, she didn't dare fly too high or too fast.
This allowed Ciri to get a clear look at what this world was like.
The moment she saw those tall buildings, she knew this wasn't Cintra, nor Redania, nor Nilfgaard.
The architectural style here was completely different from her world.
Now Ciri was certain, she had truly crossed worlds!
The reason she saw so many tall buildings was that they had arrived at a metropolis.
But they didn't stop; Ciri saw Kara carry her across the ocean, directly to another landmass.
The buildings here weren't as tall as those in the metropolis, and the architectural style was strange, with a cult-like feel.
But Ciri found this Gothic style of architecture beautiful.
She stared with wide eyes until Kara brought her down into an alley.
Her feet touching the ground, her dreamlike feeling finally disappeared.
Ciri truly felt like she had arrived in another world!
At least Nilfgaard wouldn't be chasing her anymore!
Thinking this, Ciri felt tears welling up.
"Let's go, to my home," Kara said to Ciri.
Ciri nodded and quickly followed Kara.
Gotham City wasn't safe, with many idle people, addicts, and vagrants.
However, when they saw Ciri, they all shied away.
Where did this stinking beggar come from, trying to take territory in Gotham!
Ciri was filthy all over, her silver hair almost black.
Seeing the disdainful looks from the people, Ciri felt her young heart take a heavy blow.
Following Kara upstairs, she saw Kara knock on the door. Ciri quickly asked, "Kara, won't your family dislike me?"
Seeing Ciri's fearful expression, Kara's heart softened, and she felt a sisterly affection.
"No, they won't."
The door opened, and Harley Quinn moved aside. Seeing Ciri next to Kara, she couldn't help herself.
"Where did this ugly girl come from?"
