|---|---|---|
| Mortal royal descendant | 265 | Although she carried Shuriman royal blood, Sivir was still mortal and nearly died after being betrayed and wounded in a tomb. |
| Perfect Ascended | 267 | The Khopesh drew the Sun Disc's energy into her at noon, allowing her to ascend in a human-like “perfect Ascended” form. |
| Early Ascended mastery | 274 | Under Azir's instruction, she began controlling the inherited legacy of Ascended Empress Shetaka: healing, mental attacks, and Golden Light. |
| Advanced Khopesh control | 591 | After Shetaka's guidance, Sivir could direct the Khopesh with her consciousness, enabling remote attacks and weapon suppression. |
Background
Sivir was born to two mercenaries who were killed during a war, leaving her orphaned. A scavenger adopted her, and although they lived with little food, Sivir considered that period the happiest of her life. After the scavenger grew old, she joined a renowned bandit group, won its leadership contest after the former leader died, and was soon ambushed, deposed, and nearly killed. 270
She repeatedly founded treasure-hunting teams, only to be betrayed whenever they found valuable relics. Concluding that trust only invited betrayal, she stopped leading expeditions for a time and instead worked for rewards. Her eventual encounter with Cassiopeia led to another betrayal within an Imperial Tomb, where Sivir was gravely wounded. 270 265
Sivir's royal blood and the Khopesh's connection to the Sun Disc caused her to ascend at noon. Soon afterward, her bleeding awakened Azir beneath the restored Sun Disc; Azir recognized her as his descendant and restored her condition with solar power. 267 270
While exploring Shuriman passages, Sivir experienced an illusion containing Shurima's history. The experience left her tearful and more serious about her heritage, the Ascended, and Shurima's future. 269
Appearance
Sivir remains human in appearance after Ascension rather than taking on a beast-like form. Her Ascended presence manifests as radiant Golden Light, and her ceremonial attire often evokes the image of Ascended Empress Shetaka. 267 317
- Wears elaborate, jewel-adorned Shuriman clothing on formal occasions. 317
- Has appeared in dark-green armor inlaid with gold, a crown, and the Khopesh. 533
- Emits a detectable Light Element aura when using her Ascended power. 516
- Is repeatedly noted to resemble Shetaka closely, especially while wielding the Khopesh. 533 539
Personality
Sivir is bold, teasing, and unrestrained in ordinary conversation. She jokes with companions, makes provocative remarks, and can be mischievous enough to communicate solely through sign language after taking Yasuo's request not to speak to him literally. 268 325 335
Her confidence conceals a deep fear of betrayal born from her life as a mercenary and treasure hunter. Despite this history, she craves trust, friendship, and lasting relationships; this makes her both unusually open with people she accepts and emotionally vulnerable when those bonds are threatened. 270 335 613
She is compassionate toward the Ascended and Vastaya, seeing them as people she reveres rather than enemies to be casually slain. Her inability to easily choose execution over purification becomes a major internal conflict. 280 335
When speaking for Shurima or the Light organization, Sivir can become commanding and queen-like. Her public declaration of the dream owners and later claim to rule Shurima show her willingness to bear responsibility despite her reluctance to be treated as nobility. 343 557
Abilities & Skills
Ascended Physiology
Sivir is a perfect Ascended whose form remains human-like. Her inherited power is associated with Ascended Empress Shetaka and is described as comparable in potential to Azir's own power. 267 274
- Can fly and wield solar-derived Golden Light. 269 592
- Possesses significant physical resilience and power, though she initially lacked combat experience and feared confronting veteran Ascended directly. 268
- Her Ascended body does not automatically overcome every injury; a wound caused during Azir's resurrection did not heal through normal means. 269
Healing and Mental Restoration
Sivir's inherited power specializes in healing and mental influence. She used Golden Light to stop Nasus, Renekton, and Kled's battle, heal the two Ascended brothers, and help restore their memories. 269 274
- Can calm or cleanse beings affected by corruption or madness. 279
- Her Golden Light partially restored the Rift Guardian Azanus, though the effect faded after he left its illumination. 279 280
- Her initial attempt to purify Varus with the Khopesh failed and worsened his condition. 317
- Her blood successfully restored Varus through an emergency Ascension, returning him to an Ascended form. 318
Khopesh Mastery
The Khopesh is Shetaka's Ascended weapon and the source of much of Sivir's offensive strength. It chose Sivir because of her royal blood and was instrumental in her Ascension. 268 274
- Projects Golden Light capable of immobilizing or cleansing fallen Ascended. 279
- Can suppress other weapons and restrain Ascended or Vastaya if it lands a hit. 274 591
- Its edge can cut physical matter, magical barriers, and barriers formed from Natural Power. 591
- Sivir later gained consciousness-based remote control, allowing the Khopesh to strike enemies at range while she remained airborne. 591 592
- The Khopesh destroyed Yasuo's Gale Sword when the two weapons collided. 591
- Its attacks were less effective against a massive defensive Void creature whose body protected other monsters. 606
Treasure Hunting and Leadership
Before becoming Ascended, Sivir was an experienced bandit leader and treasure hunter. She later led the Short Dagger Treasure Hunting Team, also called the Daggers. 270 617 647
- Identifies hidden tomb routes and recognizes that apparent dead ends may conceal true passages. 646
- Negotiates commissions aggressively and refuses work that she believes wastes her team's effort. 646
- Maintains contacts throughout Naremajet, including Sett and workers at the Explorer bar. 613 617
- Protects and provides for rescued orphans Xiao Fei and Dona, arranging supplies, education, and housing for them. 614 617
Equipment
- Khopesh — Shetaka's Ascended weapon; channels Golden Light, suppresses weapons, and can be remotely controlled. 274 591
- Queen's Crown — The crown of Shurima's queens, inherited by Sivir from Nashramae's tomb. 650
- Poisoned Dagger — A dagger associated with her leadership of the Daggers; its poison was potent enough to nearly kill Ezreal. 617 620
- Dark-green ceremonial armor and crown — Worn when she arrived to rejoin the Light's war effort. 533
Relationships
- Azir — Ancestor and resurrected Shuriman emperor. He recognized Sivir as his descendant, promised to make her his successor, and later secretly coordinated with her against Xerath. 270 554
- Shetaka — Ascended Empress whose bloodline and legacy Sivir inherited; later revealed to be alive and nearly identical in appearance to Sivir. She trained Sivir in Khopesh control and agreed to care for Sivir's child. 533 539 554 591
- Yasuo — Traveling companion and eventual lover. Sivir repeatedly saved him, shared a child with him under unclear circumstances, and later reunited with him after months apart. 268 487 517 559
- Varus — Restored by Sivir's blood during his re-Ascension. He regards her as his queen and acts protectively toward her. 318 371
- Huo Su — Close friend who comforts and defends Sivir when others pressure her over the question of killing Vastaya. 335 336
- Calista — Ancient Ascended companion who guarded Sivir and her child in Ionia. The two later fought and traveled together. 517 533 555
- Ezreal — Later became Sivir's expedition partner and friend after rescuing her from an Imperial Tomb. He helped her inherit the Queen's Crown and recover the Khopesh. 647 650
- Sett — Naremajet contact and informant who provides treasure-hunting leads. Sivir considers him a friend despite others' distrust of him. 613 617
- Xiao Fei and Dona — Orphans rescued by Sivir after their parents were killed by bandits. She treats them as younger siblings and supports their future. 614 617
Story Role / Major Arcs
Ascension and Azir's Return
Sivir's near-fatal betrayal in an Imperial Tomb placed her beneath the Sun Disc with the Khopesh. She ascended, then unknowingly provided the blood needed to resurrect Azir. Her subsequent Golden Light ended the battle between Nasus, Renekton, and Kled, but her own blood loss triggered the Sun Disc's restoration and Azir's awakening. 265 267 269 270
Purification of Fallen Ascended
As an Ascended Empress's descendant, Sivir became central to attempts to restore corrupted Ascended. She partially cleansed Azanus, failed to purify Varus through the Khopesh alone, and ultimately used her blood to restore him through Ascension. 279 317 318
The Light Organization
Sivir identified the known dream owners and spoke publicly in favor of organizing them against the Vastaya. Her unusually serious, queen-like speech helped establish the Light organization, even as she privately struggled with grief and the possibility of fighting those she regarded as kin. 343
Separation, Return, and the Vastaya War
Sivir secretly left her companions and later hid in Ionia while protecting her child. She returned when the war demanded it, freed Djis and Oken from Xerath's prison with Light Element power, and joined the western battlefield. 371 516 531 533
During the decisive battle, Sivir faced Azir while Varus confronted Xerath. Azir secretly asked her to help create an opening against Xerath; Sivir was eventually knocked unconscious, after which Shetaka rescued her. Azir and Xerath ultimately perished together. 554
Shurima's New Ruler
After Azir's sacrifice, Sivir addressed Shurima's city-states, tribes, and merchant caravans. She declared herself Shetaka's descendant and an Ascended, then announced her intent to replace Azir as Shurima's ruler. 557
Later Treasure-Hunting Expeditions
Sivir resumed leading the Short Dagger Treasure Hunting Team in Naremajet. She explored Imperial Tombs, negotiated dangerous commissions, and was betrayed by a Noxian client seeking a divine artifact. 617 646
After escaping the tomb with Ezreal, she accepted him as a friend. She later inherited the Queen's Crown, helped recover the Khopesh, and learned more about Azir and Shurima's royal history. 647 650
In a later confrontation, Sivir displayed abnormal strength while apparently obeying Camille as her master, attacking former allies and rejecting attempts to remind her of her Shuriman heritage. 669
Notable Quotes
“I am one of the Seven Queens of the Light Organization!” 533
“My name is Sivir, a descendant of the Ascended Empress Shetaka, and I am also an Ascended myself.” 557
Trivia
