Danzo's single eye lit up, and a hint of fanaticism surfaced on his face. "My Root is an organization even more secretive than the Anbu. We stand in the village's darkness, protecting the village in the sunlight. We are its most important line of defense."
In truth, Danzo cared nothing for Uchiha Yuan, despite the formidable Taijutsu prowess he had displayed.
In a sense, a Special Jonin was still a Chunin, with only one particular skill at Jonin level.
Thus, Uchiha Yuan's defeat of Yoshiwara Yuto hardly warranted much attention in Danzo's eyes.
Taijutsu was merely Taijutsu, after all.
Compared to Uchiha Yuan, Uchiha Shisui was the true genius who had caught both his and Hiruzen Sarutobi's attention.
The reason he had summoned Uchiha Yuan and offered him a place in Root was to plant a spy within the Uchiha Clan, someone who could pass along information and help the village monitor them.

When Uchiha Yuan remained silent, Danzo continued, "Join Root, and I can give you the Sharingan."
"What?!"
Uchiha Yuan abruptly looked up at Danzo, excitement spreading across his face.
Danzo pressed the temptation. "Boy, you're an outer family member of the Uchiha. Your bloodline is impure, so your chances of awakening the Sharingan are slim.
"That's why you've focused on training your Taijutsu, isn't it? Join Root, and I can give you the Sharingan immediately."
Danzo watched Uchiha Yuan, a smug smile spreading over his aged face.
