Background

Before transmigrating, Jiang Zhaosu was a top student who supported herself through multiple jobs, including working as an NPC at a horror park and tutoring. She read numerous apocalypse novels after her horror-park employer told her to study zombie fiction. She was punched to death by a physically powerful man before arriving in the novel world. 19 22 149

She transmigrated into the world of an apocalypse novel and became a zombie. Initially weak, hungry, and driven by instinct, she was freed and fed by Qi Xing. Human flesh and blood helped restore her damaged body, though she retained awareness and disgust at what she had eaten. 5

After learning that she, Qi Xing, and their companions were cannon fodder or villains in the original story, Jiang Zhaosu initially sought only to survive. She later resolved to defy the novel's predetermined plot, refusing the role of a disposable supporting character. 120 147 261

Jiang Zhaosu initially has the frail, damaged appearance of a zombie: a pale, thin face, dark eyes, bloodstains, and periods in which her body reverts to a visibly rotting state. As she evolves, she becomes taller and stronger. 62 72 184

Jiang Zhaosu is freed by Qi Xing, kills Shen Qiang under the pull of hunger, and consumes his body to repair herself. She subsequently learns to survive alongside Qi Xing, hunts a black bear, becomes leader of the Mutated Giant Rats, and begins developing confidence in the apocalypse. 5 27

Yangyao Base and New Allies

At Yangyao Base, Jiang Zhaosu befriends Chen Yuzhu, reveals that she is a Mutated Species, and seeks to join the Ability User Team. Her meeting with Cen Jiao and Pei Chixuan renews her fear of becoming entangled in the protagonists' plot. 77 84 90

After encountering Qi Tong and recognizing her as the future Nether King, Jiang Zhaosu realizes that her companions are destined for tragic villain roles.
