In the original story, Jiraiya and Uzumaki Naruto had persuaded Tsunade to return to Konoha only after Third Hokage Hiruzen Sarutobi died during the Konoha Crush Plan.

In this world, Hyuga Chiba intended to start the Fourth Shinobi World War.

As it happened, Tsunade had been losing badly at a casino not far from the Land of Fire.

After giving it careful thought, she had finally chosen to return to Konoha to protect the village.

There, she had naturally met Uzumaki Naruto and seen traces of her late brother, Nawaki, and her former lover, Dan Katō, in him.

But Uzumaki Naruto was still so young that he had not even graduated from the Ninja Academy. For the time being, the Konoha Higher-ups, Tsunade included, had kept the truth about the Tailed Beasts from him.

Knowing nothing of the truth, Uzumaki Naruto folded his arms and sat cross-legged on the ground, cheeks puffed out in a sulk.
