The reason the Great Ninja Villages had stood against Hyuga Chiba was that they were unwilling to casually hand over the Tailed Beasts of their own villages, let alone compromise with—or even submit to—a single person.

Yet there was no true, deep-seated hatred between them and Hyuga Chiba.

Those who had died at Hyuga Chiba's hands had also done so because the two sides stood on different ground.
