Shrek City.
Wang Dong'er, already disguised as a boy, looked up at the magnificent city and couldn't help letting out a long, heavy breath.
According to Aoyao's diary, he had already left the Star Dou Great Forest for Shrek Academy. Before long, she would meet the person who might be able to change her tragic fate!
At that thought, Wang Dong'er did not rush to Shrek Academy's registration desk. Instead, she found a noodle shop in the city and sat down, taking the piece of jade out of her clothes.
Ever since becoming the Chat-Spamming Dragon King that day and finding the designated diary content unsatisfactory, Wang Dong'er had barely spoken in the group. Few of the others chatted either; at most, there were only two or three inconsequential messages a day.
Today, however, Wang Dong'er decided to try again.
Naturally, it wasn't just for the title of Chat-Spamming Dragon King. Her main goal was to use this opportunity to find out how many other people at Shrek Academy possessed a Diary Copy.
She needed to determine exactly how many rivals she had.
That was right. In Wang Dong'er's eyes, everyone else in the chat group was her rival.
Although she had received a reward from the diary last time-the crucial ability to conceal herself from Tang San's perception-it would only last six months. She had to appear in the diary as often as possible to earn more time, or even a reward that could change her fate.
That made everyone who possessed a Diary Copy her rival.
The more often those people appeared in the diary, the fewer appearances she would naturally have.
So she had to find out who everyone in the group was.
[Where the Clouds Lie Deep: Who would have thought Tang Ya actually had a Dark Blue Silver Grass martial soul, and would even become an Evil Soul Master in the future? That's really shocking!]
[Where the Clouds Lie Deep: And I remember Aoyao also mentioned before that someone at Shrek Academy named Ma Xiaotao would become an Evil Soul Master in the future too.]
[Where the Clouds Lie Deep: Tsk... the illustrious Shrek Academy actually raised two Evil Soul Masters. If word got out, wouldn't that tarnish Shrek's reputation?]
[Expert at Flute-Blowing and Cauldron-Smashing: Mm-hmm! Exactly! This is making me afraid to go report to Shrek Academy!]
Report?
In that case... this group member called Expert at Flute-Blowing and Cauldron-Smashing was the same age as me, and was enrolling at Shrek Academy now too?
A thoughtful look crossed Wang Dong'er's face. As for this person's claim about being afraid to report, she didn't believe it for a second!
She had been right... there really were plenty of people at Shrek Academy with Diary Copies!
[Proud Fire Phoenix: He's talking complete bullshit!]
[Proud Fire Phoenix: There is absolutely no way Evil Soul Masters would emerge from Shrek Academy!]
[Yue Ma: What Aoyao recorded was only what might happen in the future. It won't necessarily all become reality. Now that Shrek Academy knows in advance, it will certainly take precautions and prevent anything like this from happening.]
[Yue Ma: @Expert at Flute-Blowing and Cauldron-Smashing Shrek Academy welcomes you.]
Wang Dong'er's eyes narrowed slightly as understanding dawned on her.
Proud Fire Phoenix and Yue Ma were both members of Shrek Academy. Judging by their reactions, Proud Fire Phoenix had responded more strongly and was very likely either Ma Xiaotao or Tang Ya. But the diary said Tang Ya had a Dark Blue Silver Grass martial soul, which didn't seem to match this group username.
That made this person much more likely to be Ma Xiaotao.
As for Yue Ma...
That tone didn't sound like something a student would use. It sounded more like a teacher at Shrek Academy, or someone in its upper ranks.
I still can't be sure who she is. I'll make a note of her for now.
[Where the Clouds Lie Deep: Take precautions? You don't mean secretly executing Tang Ya and Ma Xiaotao, do you? Eliminate future threats ahead of time so they can't wreak havoc on the continent? I think that's an excellent suggestion.]
[Expert at Flute-Blowing and Cauldron-Smashing: @Yue Ma Thank you~]
[Expert at Flute-Blowing and Cauldron-Smashing: I think @Where the Clouds Lie Deep's suggestion makes some sense. Since they'll become Evil Soul Masters in the future, wouldn't killing them ahead of time, before they wreak havoc on the continent, solve it?]
In a secluded chamber in the Inner Court.
As Ma Xiaotao read the messages on the jade, the corners of her mouth twitched twice, and her expression turned strange.
Kill me first?
Are you kidding me?!
I was a reserve member of the previous Shrek Seven Devils, and I'm one of this generation's Shrek Seven Devils!
My teacher is Yan Shaozhe, dean of Shrek Academy's Martial Soul Department, and you're actually saying they should kill me ahead of time?
How dare you even say that?!
Ma Xiaotao's ample breasts rose and fell repeatedly. Clearly, the group messages had infuriated her.
Of course, she was even angrier with Aoyao for spreading rumors in his diary.
I, Ma Xiaotao, would sooner die than become an Evil Soul Master!
But soon, Ma Xiaotao seemed to realize something, and her emotions immediately settled considerably.
Although she usually acted hot-tempered, flaring up at the slightest spark, that didn't mean she had no brains. Sometimes, she simply couldn't be bothered to use them.
No matter how she thought about it, there was no way she would become an Evil Soul Master in the future.
At least, she would never do so willingly.
Under Shrek Academy's influence and that of her martial soul, she had developed a hatred of evil as fierce as any personal vendetta. As an inspector, she was absolutely ruthless toward Evil Soul Masters.
Given that, there was only one possible way she could become an Evil Soul Master in the future.
One day, she would be unable to suppress the evil fire within her, and when it went out of control, she would kill countless innocent people.
That was the only explanation.
At that thought, Ma Xiaotao's face grew much paler, and disbelief crept into her eyes.
Could it be that my future self really won't find a way to solve the evil fire problem? Will it truly torment me until the very end?
A trace of bewilderment flashed through Ma Xiaotao's eyes.
If that's really the case, what does everything I've persevered through all these years amount to?
Ma Xiaotao couldn't help clenching her fists. As her emotions surged, her chest began rising and falling again, putting her voluptuous figure on full display.
Only after sitting in silence for a long time did Ma Xiaotao let out a long breath.
Much as she hated to admit it, this diary... really was extraordinarily mysterious.
Perhaps this diary could give me a chance to suppress the evil fire, or even eliminate it completely?
All I need is for my name to appear in the diary many times, isn't it?
But would this diary really offer a reward like that?
