Background / History

Survivor of the Tang Sect’s Destruction

The Iron Blood Sect destroyed the Tang Sect, and Tang Ya’s parents were murdered. Its former grounds were occupied by other sects, while its Strength, Defense, Agility, and Medicine Halls disappeared with the destruction. Tang Ya retained the title of sect master but lacked the resources needed to rebuild 98 99 101.

She initially treated Tang San as a glorious founding ancestor whose actions deserved defending. When other diary readers condemned him, she blamed Aoyao and decided to teach him a lesson. The diary system immediately punished her for intending to harm its host, forcing her to apologize 5.

Rejecting the Evil Soul Master Path

Aoyao’s diary warned that Tang Ya would eventually become an Evil Soul Master. She already knew her Blue Silver Grass could consume other creatures’ vitality and had resisted using that ability as a shortcut to power. The prospect of bringing permanent disgrace upon the Tang Sect made her determined to find another route 13.

She accompanied Bei Bei and her classmate Qin Qin into the Star Dou Great Forest, using Qin Qin’s need for a third ring as an opportunity to approach Aoyao. There, she invited Huo Yuhao into the Tang Sect after learning from the diary that he would eventually become a god 20.

Although she initially struggled to accept Aoyao’s criticism of the sect’s inherited cultivation methods, she chose a life-attribute third ring instead of another poisonous one. Its suppression of her devouring urges convinced her that his advice was sound 21 24 47.

Break with Bei Bei

Tang Ya’s trust in Bei Bei deteriorated after the diary revealed his childhood engagement to Zhang Lexuan. She felt deceived because he had never disclosed it despite Zhang Lexuan’s frequent presence in their lives 21.

The decisive rupture came when Huo Yuhao faced expulsion from Shrek Academy. Tang Ya believed Bei Bei could appeal to his great-great-grandfather, Mu En, but was unwilling to do so. Already hurt by his concealed background and failure to help with her family’s blood feud, she ended their relationship 80 81.

She later acknowledged that Bei Bei might have had difficulties of his own and stopped blaming him, but accepted that their relationship could not return to what it had been 101.

Reassessing the Tang Sect’s Legacy

Tang Ya commissioned a diary entry about the Tang Sect to recover lost history and find a rebuilding strategy that did not depend on Huo Yuhao. Aoyao correctly identified her as the requester, exposing her ability to read his diary and triggering the loss of her rings 98 99.

She welcomed the unexpected removal of her devouring instinct and the opportunity to rebuild her ring configuration. Meanwhile, Aoyao’s account of Tang San weakening the sect’s cultivation arts and removing powerful hidden-weapon designs turned her reverence into resentment. She connected those losses to the sect’s destruction and her parents’ deaths, eventually joining the chat group’s criticism of Tang San openly 99 100 101 121.

Alliance with Aoyao

Her subsequent diary rewards convinced Tang Ya that she could become strong enough to restore the sect herself. She approached Aoyao openly, offering him the deputy sect-master position and access to the Tang Sect’s secret arts; he rejected both offers 102 128.

Aoyao instead demanded a kiss in exchange for helping her obtain more rewards. Tang Ya agreed, and their encounter developed into an intimate relationship. She remained anxious and reluctant about the bargain, but believed greater strength was necessary to avenge her parents and revive the sect. The following morning, she asked him not to record their night together in his diary 128 129 130 131.

Appearance

Tang Ya has a lively face, large expressive eyes, and a curvaceous figure; her beauty is described as comparable to Ning Tian’s, though without Ning Tian’s noble bearing 20.

  • Fair skin — The system’s lashes left visible bloody welts on her back and arm 5.
  • School uniform — Wears it during her meeting with Aoyao beside Sea God Lake 128.
  • Beauty ranking — Aoyao places her eighteenth in his personal top-twenty list, partly considering the altered appearance of her foretold Blue Silver Saintess form. Tang Ya is more offended by his “NPC” label than by her placement 76.

Personality

Tang Ya’s central goals are restoring the Tang Sect and avenging her parents. Her refusal to embrace vitality-devouring cultivation initially reflects both personal resistance and concern that an Evil Soul Master sect leader would destroy the sect’s reputation 13.

She is defensive about the Tang Sect and easily angered by ridicule of its decline. Nevertheless, she can revise deeply held beliefs when practical evidence contradicts them: the benefits of her life-attribute ring lead her to reject Yu Xiaogang’s inherited guidance, and revelations about the sect’s weakened legacy undermine her devotion to Tang San 47 92 100.

Her pursuit of rewards also exposes a tendency toward self-justification. While still dating Bei Bei, she rationalizes secretly approaching Aoyao as compensation for Bei Bei’s concealment of his engagement—and as a way to become strong enough to stay beside him longer 47.

Abilities & Skills

Blue Silver Grass

  • Former vitality devouring: Could consume other living creatures’ life force to strengthen itself. Tang Ya resisted this impulse because of its association with Evil Soul Masters 13 22.
  • Poison-based configuration: Her first two rings added poisonous effects, following the Tang Sect’s inherited model 24.
  • Life-attribute cultivation: Her third ring suppressed the devouring craving and made cultivation increasingly smooth 47.
  • Purified state: The system’s regression removed the devouring ability and urge entirely 99 148.
  • Enhanced vitality: The first rewarded evolution produced thicker, pale-blue grass with vigorous life energy and apparently increased cultivation speed 102.
  • Evolution limit: After that evolution, Tang Ya judged her Martial Soul still below the Blue Silver King reference level, much less the Blue Silver Emperor 102.

Tang Sect Secret Arts

  • Offers to teach Aoyao the Mysterious Heaven Skill, Purple Demon Eye, and the other Tang Sect secret arts she possesses 128.
  • Possesses inherited hidden-weapon knowledge and manufacturing blueprints 128.
  • The diary describes the inherited Mysterious Heaven Skill as weakened to basic meditation and recovery, limiting the accompanying secret arts’ potential 100.

Diary Copy Access

  • Reads Aoyao’s diary and communicates through the associated chat group as Grass (a plant) 5.
  • Earns rewards when her name appears most frequently in a completed diary entry 24 102.
  • Can commission diary subjects, as she does with the Tang Sect’s history 98.
  • Is subject to punishment for hostile intentions toward the host or exposure as a diary reader 5 99.

Equipment / Items

  • Chat-group jade stone — Used to access group discussion; she considers using it to curse Tang San before initially deciding to wait 100.
  • Tang Sect hidden-weapon blueprints — Offers the designs she possesses to Aoyao as part of her proposed exchange for diary rewards 128.

Relationships

  • Aoyao — Initially the target of her anger over criticism of Tang San; later her source of cultivation guidance, diary rewards, and an intimate relationship negotiated around those rewards 5 47 128 131.
  • Bei Bei — Former boyfriend and Tang Sect companion. His concealed engagement and failure to seek Mu En’s intervention for Huo Yuhao contribute to their breakup; he later wishes her happiness 21 81 129.
  • Huo Yuhao — Tang Sect recruit whom she helps establish Little Huo’s Grilled Fish, arranging ingredients and a profitable location. She seeks help when he faces expulsion, and he assures her afterward that he still belongs to the sect 20 47 80 82.
  • Tang San — Tang Sect founder whom she once revered as “Ancestor.” Her respect collapses as she learns about his treatment of the sect’s legacy. Despite their shared surname, they are not related by blood 5 100 121 131.
  • Zhang Lexuan — Bei Bei’s concealed childhood fiancée; learning of that relationship damages Tang Ya’s trust in him 21.
  • Wang Dong’er — Frequent chat-group opponent. Their quarrels continue even after Tang Ya begins condemning Tang San herself 5 121.
  • Qin Qin — Classmate who accompanies her and Bei Bei into the Star Dou Great Forest and helps search for her life-attribute third ring 20 24.

Foretold Fate and Possible Godhood

Original Fate Described in the Diary

These events belong to the trajectory Aoyao describes, not Tang Ya’s documented current progression.

  • Holy Spirit Cult’s Blue Silver Saintess: Her Martial Soul leads her into becoming an Evil Soul Master and falling into the cult’s hands 68 76 101.
  • Titled Douluo: The cult forcibly raises her cultivation through secret techniques, giving her seven black Soul Rings and two red Soul Rings 148.
  • Damaged foundation: After her rescue, a Universe Creation Pill repairs the foundation corroded by the cult’s evil poison 101.
  • Tang Sect restoration: During her absence, Bei Bei and especially Huo Yuhao carry the sect’s revival, leaving her little direct involvement in its growth 101 148.

Aoyao’s Proposed Alternatives

  • Blue Silver Emperor evolution: Further diary rewards might continue evolving her Martial Soul toward this form 148.
  • God of Plants: Suggested as a possible inheritance suited to a plant Martial Soul 148.
  • Goddess of Life: Considered by Aoyao, though he worries that granting her a God King position would upset the other women 148.
  • God of Lone Bamboo: A joking proposal involving a hundred-thousand-year Lone Bamboo ring and “Blue Silver Pole Vault”; Tang Ya herself questions whether such a plant could live that long 148.
