The battle in the Gloomy Cave Tomb ended before long...

From beginning to end, the battle between the elite upper ranks of the Dawnguard and the Volkihar vampires in the Gloomy Cave Tomb had been largely uneventful.

That was because one person had been cheating, constantly shielding her allies so they could charge at the enemy without restraint, hacking at them and firing crossbows without worrying about the vampires' magical or physical counterattacks. Meanwhile, a little girl kept binding the vampires with Light Binding, leaving them rooted to the spot, unable to move or cast spells. After Dawnguard leader Isran and his underlings had taken turns stepping forward to chop off their heads, the battle quickly ended in a resounding victory for the Dawnguard.

And after defeating the vampires, the next step, of course, was to start working on breaking the magical seal on the altar-like structure.

The vampires hadn't managed to break the seal on the altar before, but something like that obviously couldn't stump a certain little girl! With her "Archmage" title and enough knowledge to break any magical device, she easily instructed her Dawnguard companions in dismantling the seal, which she considered incredibly clumsy. Before long, a stone coffin slowly rose from its center.

But...

What surprised everyone and caught them completely off guard was that the coffin didn't contain the artifact the vampires had been searching for, or anything else powerful. It held a female vampire who was still alive?!

After their initial shock and the ensuing brawl, they managed to gang up on the female vampire, beat her up, and tie her securely. In the end, they still found what was probably the "artifact" the vampires had gone to such lengths to seek: an impressive-looking "Elder Scroll" carried on the female vampire's back.

And so!
