On the very first night, he set off with Padmé, commandeering a fast ship with no legal registration and quietly slipping away from Coruscant in the dead of night without informing anyone.

As a Jedi who had always belonged to Coruscant and stood above all official authorities, Anakin was already intimately familiar with the planet's methods for intercepting and stopping smuggler ships. So, without using any privileges, his brazen act of official "smuggling" naturally let him evade all legal inspections and patrol ships, allowing him to leave the capital of the Galactic Republic without anyone noticing.
