To put it plainly, the "Blood Lord" Mohg was dead!
He had fallen inside his own mausoleum, before his beloved "queen," the Empyrean Miquella. Blood covered the floor. One of his eyes stared lifelessly ahead, while the other had vanished along with half his brain.
A moment ago, after the furious Little Bear had defeated the Blood Lord Mohg with a swipe that knocked his head clean off, Mohg's Great Rune and memory naturally fell into little Annie's hands. She took a quick glance and more or less figured out the Blood Lord's background and some of the evil things he had done.
As it turned out, Mohg was the younger brother of "Blessed Lord" (or perhaps "Omen King"?) Morgott, who was in Leyndell, the Royal Capital. They were the second and third sons of the goddess Marika and the warrior Hoarah Loux (Godfrey), and direct members of the Golden Lineage.
However, although Morgott and Mohg were born to high station, the power of the Crucible—the source of life that had nurtured the primordial Erdtree—had affected them from birth. They became the "Omen," cursed monsters covered in growths and horns, with grotesque, ugly features.
