Not far away, Annie was cheering loudly.
Then, when Lumine and Paimon looked over together, they saw a big squirrel dangling from Annie's hand, held by the loose skin at the back of its neck.
The little thing naturally started baring its teeth and struggling desperately, but no matter how much it scratched and bit, it couldn't touch even a hair on little Annie's hand.

Paimon paid no attention and simply kept flying forward on her own, as if she'd spotted something.

Annie leaned close to the little squirrel and asked this cruel question with utmost seriousness.

Perhaps it sensed Annie's malice—or perhaps it was simply acting on animal instinct, trying to seize that slim chance of survival.
Whatever the reason!
The little thing suddenly shrieked. Its previously sweet, adorable appearance turned ferocious in an instant, and it lunged at Annie's face and eyes, reaching out with its sharp claws and bared teeth to scratch and bite her.

Unfortunately, Annie simply ducked her head and easily avoided it. How could a tiny animal like that possibly hurt her?

Of course, the main reason was that she didn't seem to have any extra cooking utensils on hand, and she wasn't exactly a professional chef. So her cooking methods were bound to be limited. Apart from roasting it directly, she really didn't have many options.
