After an intimate encounter with the girl who'd come drifting down on the wind—and someone getting a bruised and swollen face in the process—the girl introduced herself and asked a few questions. The misunderstanding was soon cleared up, and Annie, Lumine, and the clueless Paimon met the Outrider of the Knights of Favonius, whose flying skills seemed a little lacking: the archer girl Amber.
Since the three of them weren't very good at finding their way around to begin with, they quickly decided to follow the somewhat silly-looking knight, Amber, to Mondstadt, the city of wind and dandelions, known as the City of Freedom. That way, they wouldn't get mistaken for suspicious people, interrogated, or sent down the wrong path again.
But really, they had no choice but to follow her.
Amber claimed she was "escorting" them to Mondstadt, but in truth, she was keeping an eye on them.
After all, Annie, Lumine, and Paimon were suspicious travelers who'd appeared where they shouldn't have, and they couldn't explain where they came from. Some necessary questioning and investigation was inevitable.
But...
Before escorting the three of them back to Mondstadt, Amber had a small task to take care of. So after leaving the woods, the four of them followed Amber together, and before long, they arrived at a small Hilichurl camp.
"Phew!"
"I'm exhausted!"
"But at least we found them!"
When she saw that the camp mentioned in the report really was hidden behind the hillside, Amber—who'd brought Annie, Lumine, and Paimon along as a "detour"—finally let out a sigh of relief and continued:
"Look!"
"You can all see it, right?"
"That camp ahead is the target of my mission!"
