Chapter 2219: The Three Legions and Night Training
After the two sides had finished their childish discussions at the banquet and more or less reached a few agreements, Guts and Schierke soon settled down in the territory of a certain Earl—in what was now known as the "City of Holy Light." They no longer had to live as wandering vagrants, constantly on the move.
Not long afterward, the lord of Hakka, the crotchety old man who had once made a pact with Guts, received Guts's letter and soon led nearly ten thousand soldiers to join them. With that, the formation of Guts's Army of the Light was officially put on the agenda.
Very soon!
With the support and insistent demands of a certain troublesome little girl, who also stuck her nose in and interfered, a cavalry legion of about three thousand was formed under the name of the Knights of the Silver Hand. Two other legions were formed as well: the Scarlet Crusade and the Argent Dawn Crusade, each a heavily armored infantry corps of three thousand five hundred men. In all, they had raised an army of ten thousand.
And so, once formed, the three legions began intensive training in the military camp outside the City of Holy Light. They started studying the new tenets of the Holy Light, praying to it, and learning how to use it properly in different situations.
Among them, Farnese, the former commander of the Holy Iron Chain Knights; the deputy commander Azan; and the clerk Serpico—the three people who had been the first to lead others in following Caska—each received one of three holy seals. After receiving guidance from Annie, Schierke had copied them from the back of Guts's hand.
And so!
The first original Paladins in this world were officially born.
