This certainly wasn't Annie's first time seeing the ocean. She'd even served as a captain or fleet admiral on several occasions, sailing wooden ships across the open sea for long stretches.
But this was her first time seeing an ocean with white waves and a pink surface like the one before her, so it really was quite a rare sight.
"Hey?"
"Little Annie, have you never seen the ocean before?"
Just then, after stepping off the aircraft and hearing Annie's exclamation, Sorana Kitan glanced over at her parents, who were chatting with the island's owner and manager. She thought for a moment, then walked over to Annie with light, graceful steps and asked smugly.
"Of course I have!"

"But this is the first time I've seen a red ocean like this!"

Annie first denied Sorana's guess, then hurriedly explained with a pout.

"The ocean here is so vast! You can see so far!"

As she spoke, Annie raised her hands to her brow and gazed into the distance.
She realized that the ocean on this planet, Xilia, looked completely different from the oceans on Earth that she was used to.
Besides looking red, it also seemed much wider and larger. Unlike the oceans on Earth, where you could only see a dozen or so nautical miles and sometimes make out a slight curve, this one seemed utterly endless.
"Of course it does!"
"Our planet's radius is much larger than Earth's. When the planets have different radii, the ocean looks wider and flatter, and the horizon doesn't seem curved like it does on your Earth."
