After receiving Captain Ed's distress signal, First Officer Kelly of the Orville didn't dare take any chances, even though it had been sent using some kind of Quill signal device. She rushed to the signal's location at once, despite the danger.
When Annie arrived at the signal point on a planet, riding in a shuttle with several armed Orville soldiers, she was in high spirits. To her disappointment, though, she found only a small squad of twenty-odd oddly shaped alien gunmen chasing poor, hapless Uncle Ed.
Annie was deeply unimpressed and annoyed that Uncle Ed had sent out an emergency distress signal just because he'd run into twenty-odd armed thugs. She flew into a rage and boldly used the transport shuttle as a fighter. After a few simple dive-bombing runs and strafing attacks, the shuttle's defensive particle cannons wiped out every last enemy.
Finally, after showing off in the sky for several laps and managing to make the soldiers in the cabin dizzy and sick, she reluctantly brought the pitiful, dumbfounded Uncle Ed and a familiar-looking Quill aboard the Orville.
